Notre Dame Roster Top 25 Countdown 2019

August 12, 2019 by Ryan Ritter

It's an annual tradition that puts my name in between Pete Sampson and Tim O'Malley: Inside the Irish's countdown of the top 25 players on the Irish Roster. HLS was once again asked to be a part of thirteen Notre Dame reporting outlets to vote and I was happy to once again represent our little corner of the internet. Now that Douglas Farmer has unveiled the consensus top 25, much like last year, I was ready to defend my picks and hot ranking takes...except I don't think I really need ...

Key Matchups Against Michigan State

September 16, 2016 by Steve Price

In one of the featured college football games this week, the #12 Michigan State Spartans will make the short trip to South Bend to take on the #18 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Both teams see this game as an opportunity to add a notable, significant win to their postseason resume. For the Spartans, a win essentially guarantees them a top-ten ranking in next week’s polls, especially with #2 Florida State vs. #10 Louisville and #3 Ohio State vs. #14 Oklahoma also on this week’s schedule. For ...

Communication: Despite the Bright Lights, Little is Clear from Kelly

September 5, 2016 by Bayou Irish

You just knew that this second meeting between the University of Notre Dame and the University of Texas would be one for the ages. As Notre Dame fans, we expect such moments to go our way. As it is, at the end of two overtimes, the Irish fell just short and their season's trajectory is less than apparent. From the quarterback position, to the defense, to the meaning of "targeting," nothing is clear about what comes next. Head football coach Brian Kelly, now in his seventh season, stuck to his ...

A Trio of Irish Injuries

June 13, 2016 by andrewwinn

Senior cornerback Devin Butler, junior running back Justin Brent and junior cornerback Nick Watkins are among Irish injured during recent football activities, with Butler's injury expected to sideline him until late September.
