A Notre Dame Football Blog
This episode was supposed to be a simple Recap/Roundup combo episode with the Thanksgiving holiday. Instead, the NCAA levied penalties against Notre Dame, mainly for the academic issues of the Frozen Five. As a part of that ruling, the wins from the 2012 and 2013 seasons will be vacated. So this episode largely features a rant about this hypocritical decision. Skip to 37:35 if you're here for the rant and not the recap of the week that was in college football that precedes it. ...
There's really no better way to describe the feeling that Shane and I have on this week's Roundup than the title of "we don't know." From insane rankings to trying to preview a Notre Dame game that will feature two Jekyll and Hyde teams, we certainly try our best, but end up circling around to the same conclusion. So why listen to this show if we've already spoiled the conclusion? Because it's all about the journey...and jokes. The Roundup We talked about these on the recap, but had no ...

I don't know about y'all, but I had one hell of a week. I must say that I really need a bit more levity in my life and recording this episode with Shane and Eddie was just what the doctor ordered. We talk about those other Tuesday night results--you know, the college football playoff rankings--and take a hard turn into as many of the fun and hilarious stories that we could find in the world of college football. But what to do about a bad Notre Dame football team playing a not very exciting ...
At this point, the podcast serves as audio therapy for Shane and I. You get the opportunity to listen in to this sadness as we come to terms with the shit-show that is the 2016 season. This week, we again examine the likely reality that Brain Kelly will be the head coach of the Irish in 2017. Previous episodes have established our thoughts on this and just how uncertain finding a new coach, and more importantly the right coach, is. I find a couple of examples using some past win-loss records ...
Facebook reminded me that, two years ago on this very day, I announced that the Friday Roundup would debut as an audio medium on the DFW airwaves. Quite a lot has changed since then. The show went from the radio to a podcast. From solo babbling to having guest pickers and then a permanent co-host. From staying clean to cursing like sailors. It seems fitting, to me at least, that this episode ended up being a complete episode of randomness. This college football/Notre Dame podcast ended up ...
Time for another (delayed) podcast episode as Shane and I take a look at the week that was in college football and, with the extra recording delay, a look at the first batch of CFB Playoff Rankings. There is a heavy, heavy focus on Notre Dame Miami in this one and...WE GET TO TALK ABOUT A WIN! Don't worry, there's plenty to complain about as well. Enjoy salt about quiet stands, silent cheers, fans wearing WR gloves, boneheaded plays, and a reminder that everything is far from fixed. ...
This week, I feel that I have channeled my inner Clark Griswold. If something could go wrong, it has. This podcast is no exception. Not only have Shane and I seen or normal recording schedule go haywire, but I was in rare form in terms of podcasting screwups. Thankfully, this medium allows for edits to make the product sound much less clusterfucky; however, I felt like every loyal listener to the show deserved some insight into just how off the rails I went during recording in the form of a ...
With the bye week upon us, Shane and I decided to mix things up a little bit. Jack Jorgensen, college football editor of FanSided.com, dropped by to chat. We take a look at the current landscape of college football to this point and get an outsider's opinion on Brian Kelly during this disastrous season. And yes, Eddie and I are still picking games, but we took it easy on ourselves with just a slate of five. Hopefully, we don't destroy our records too much. No links, just the pod this time. ...
No, Shane and I did not drunkcast this episode. Eddie did. After a nice, even-keeled look through the latest in college football headlines, Eddie came in with loads of fire. Fueled by alcohol and rage, this week's picks can only be described as a thing that was recorded on Thursday night. But that's just the tail end of an hour-plus podcast which, of course, includes a look at Notre Dame taking on a Stanford team that isn't as good as you might remember them being. Hey, that kind of sounds ...
There's no sugarcoating it. This past Saturday was an absolute for Notre Dame and it leaves far more questions than it does answers. Shane (SupermanTDJesus) and I try to dig into these many questions and see what we come up with. Of course, this all follows a quick look at the rest of college football which features a major upset of a future opponent and an upset of a coach that many would place on their coaching hire short-list. ...
