HLS Recap (Text Edition): Dabo’s the Worst

November 23, 2020 by Ryan Ritter

Initially, Shane and I planned to do our usual recap show, but, like the rest of 2020, shit happens. It made more sense to cancel a few hours before the our usual Sunday recording and for me to dust of my writing skills instead. So strap yourselves in for an extremely long post to get all the thoughts in my head that would've been shared on the podcast, out and available for internet consumption. ...

Notre Dame is a deeply flawed team this year; last night confirmed that. It was almost hard to watch the Irish make huge errors on special teams, continue to play defense with the density of Swiss cheese and make questionable coaching decisions in a game they absolutely had to win. There was seemingly no ...

It is time for the Irish to even the series, but it won't be easy. NC State has been to two straight bowl games and is considered a program on the rise. NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR The major change for the Wolfpack this year will be a new offensive coordinator by the name of Eliah Drinkwitz. Last year, ...

Notre Dame Football: Trap Games 2016 (Part 2)

June 23, 2016 by EricStFrame

What are trap games? Well, for starters these games tend to be against teams that are ranked just outside the Top 25. This, of course, means a win over the Irish is sure to catapult them into the Top 25 in the subsequent week’s rankings. Another aspect of trap games include the level of play. Either the unranked underdog plays up to Notre Dame’s talent level or, unfortunately, the Irish seep down to the underdog’s level of play. When both of these happen simultaneously, it is a recipe for ...
