Irish Laxers Set For Sunday Re-Match with UNC

May 21, 2016 by Jimmy Grant

The #5 Notre Dame men's lacrosse team will play #12 North Carolina in the NCAA quarterfinals Sunday after a dominating performance last weekend. The Irish beat the #13 Air Force Falcons, 15-7, after surging to a five-goal halftime lead. The men's team had squandered fourth-quarter leads against North Carolina and Duke before the tournament began. But that was not a concern last Saturday, as the Irish cruised to easy victory. The Irish were paced by sophomore Mikey Wynne, who contributed ...

Irish Blogger Gathering: Let’s Shake This Thing Up

November 7, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

When Subway rode off into the sunset and placed the IBG into my care, he probably didn't anticipate that I'd start tinkering with the thing before the season was even done. However, soon after I took hold, I couldn't help it and the wheels started spinning in my head for how to shake things up again. When another member of the IBG came to me asking for change as well, I took it as a sign to go for it. I threw out an idea. It wasn't hated. So here we go. I took inspiration from the roots of ...

So, I had the joy of being at work until 1am last night and I'm just now playing catch-up to get everything out. So instead of a well, thought out intro, you're getting a bulleted list of highlights. Tower, this is Tex, requesting an IBG fly-by: Mike Coffey of NDNation answers my questions below I answer Frank Vitovitch's questions over at UHND.com Visit the other IBG members: NDN will query Keith Arnold of Inside the Irish who will serve as inquisitor to UND.com's Aaron Horvath of the ...

Notre Dame @ Air Force Gameday Conversation

October 26, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

Here is yet ANOTHER reminder about how to find today's game on TV: If you don't have CBS Sports Network (check here to see if you do), head to a sports bar, check out your local ND alumni club for a gamewatch, go to a friend's house, etc. With that out of the way, below are your usual Twitter widgets to help the gameday conversation out. No Spotify playlist this week as my creativity drew a big blank this week. Feel free to enjoy last week's. GO IRISH! BEAT FALCONS! Tweets from ...

Good Fridays w/Padre: Our Forces

October 25, 2013 by Father Sorin

Evidently we’re playing something called the Air Force Academy this weekend.  I’ve never really understood what an “Air Force” actually is.  We never had one in France – and if we had (let’s be honest) they would have found a way to surrender promptly.  We never had an Air Force back when I was starting my Northern Indiana adventure.  We were still doing cavalry charges and using sabers.  So this is all rather odd to me.  As I have studied the issue, it seems that the Air Force maintains many ...

Notre Dame is also undefeated when Cam loses his helmet AND we have fun with the resulting meme in the Roundup.

Friday Roundup: The “run cmd” Edition

October 25, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

Well, Cam McDaniel has become quite the internet sensation this week. I feel though we are only focusing on one aspect of Cam McDaniel right now. There is clearly so much more that this Texas native delivers. Back when we detailed Cam's amazing run through a backwards gauntlet, one loyal reader had the ingenious idea of nicknaming Cam "run cmd". Being a computer nerd myself, I've run with this. With that in mind, let's take a journey through some of Cam's greatest hits this season via run cmd ...

PSAs: ND/Air Force NOT on CBS, Check Out iTunes Season Pass

October 23, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

First off, let's just get this out of the way right now and hopefully reduce confusion come Saturday afternoon: Notre Dame @ Air Force is not, I repeat, NOT on CBS. The game will air on the CBS Sports Network which you may or may not have depending on your cable provider. Here's a pretty picture to help you remember: Plan your day accordingly and don't be confused as to why CBS is showing Uncle Verne and an SEC matchup. Second, you may or may not be aware that Notre Dame released a ...

Her Loyal Podcast: Episode 2

October 22, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

The Irish Twins are back this morning to talk Trojan Bloods and Notre Dame's victory over rival USC. Other topics include discussion of going for it on the first drive, Zaire's redshirt, the Irish offense, special teams, ND's lack of a ranking, a big picture look at the program, and a preview of Air Force. There's a lot to digest, so dig in below: ...
