I'm convinced that being a Notre Dame football fan might just be one of the strangest existences in sports today. Despite the fact that the Irish are 6-0, it is as if we as fans still have something to prove. ...

You know what I haven't done in a Roundup yet? An actual opponent preview. It's time I change that -- especially since this week I've heard far too much about how the Miami offense could potentially give the Irish troubles. All of this analysis glosses over the fact that Miami isn't that great and I'm here to fix that. ...

Usually, I hate bye weeks. The anticipation of the next game drives me crazy. As Notre Dame has so often done in the past, our bye weeks tend to arrive right before some of our biggest games which doesn't help. This year though, it couldn't have come at a better time. ...

As always during Hate Week, we at HLS have been spewing a good load of Michigan hate. The IBG was focused on it, and Bayou gave some great historical context as to why Michigan deserves our hatred. Inevitably, the open letter from Blue-Gray Sky (RIP) to Michigan's fans finds itself linked on at least one Notre Dame site as well. But this week isn't just about hate, it's about vengeance. ...

Write a fun intro, throw up some news links from the college football world, highlight some football games, predict the score of the Notre Dame game, suggest a beer, and mix it all together with some humor. That's the usual format for the Roundup, but this week is different. In just a few hours, a young man member of the Notre Dame family had his life turned upside down. This week, Manti Te'o has to deal with not just the opposing Michigan State offense, but the deaths of his grandmother and ...

Initially, I was going to have a bit of fun in the Roundup at Purdue's expense. You know, the usual HLS bit, plenty of the Irish will "beat them like a drum" puns, Purdon't and Purduzzzzzzzzzzz mentions -- the whole nine yards. Yesterday though, something else happened that made me decide to change the direction of this piece. Notre Dame called out its own fans. ...

My initial plan for this week's Roundup was to do a preview for the Navy game. Perhaps build upon my post about defending the option and talk a bit about Golson and how he would lead the offense against Navy. But then I saw this: ...

Hat tip to @rakesofmallow and @NDEddiemac for the inspiration of what follows... [In a dark corner of South Bend, Brian Kelly and Everett Golson look upon a motionless Tommy Rees, incapacitated from a devastating tackle from a member of the SBPD...] ...

Let's face it, it's been one hell of a week. We upgraded HLS to 3.0, adding several new toys, a revamped news section, a place for videos, a true recruiting section, and even a curated Amazon store. Once we completed that, we came back to SwatchWatch and eventually had a uniform reveal that went about as well as expected (read: yep, people are pissed). A once respected columnist decided to take some lazy pot-shots at ND for pageviews in the middle of that mess. So yeah, not exactly a ...

So as I was live-tweeting a rather pedestrian radio interview of Brian Kelly on WSBT's Weekday SportsBeat, things started to get rather interesting. It started with some humor, such as Kelly being asked if he would install a jumbo package with Louis Nix III as the running back. Then that followed with Kelly asking if "Crazy Train" would be the third down song of choice. Kelly laughed that off, implying even he was rather sick of it, saying "everything was under evaluation" and later joked ...
