NCAA fail

Yes, I always imagined I'd be looking for public stock photos of A/C units for a college football blog.

Friday Roundup: The HVAC Edition

September 13, 2019 by Ryan Ritter

Teams are always looking for ways to up their home-field advantage. Iowa paints their visitors' locker room pink. Notre Dame installed a comical tunnel for visiting teams to use. So when Ed Orgeron said that Texas cut off the air conditioning to the visitors' locker room, it sounded plausible even if it bordered on the bush-league absurd (even moreso than Weis' tactic of letting the grass in ND Stadium grow to absurd lengths). Coach O didn't stop there though. He said Texas pulled the same ...

August 9, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

Good grief, NCAA, where do I even begin with you this week? In case you missed it, on Wednesday Jay Bilas partook in one of his favorite pastimes: dropping bombs on the NCAA's head. He discovered that you could enter names of athletes the search feature of the NCAA's store and actually find the "generic" numbered jersey that just so happens to match said athlete like say, Johnny Manzel, who is currently under investigation for taking payment for signing ...

Friday Roundup: The “And Now the Offseason Really Begins” Edition

February 8, 2013 by Ryan Ritter

With National Signing Day now behind us, the offseason begins in earnest. It's definitely a mixed bag. On the one hand, it gives us all here at HLS time to breathe a little bit without having to worry about the next game or being ready to analyze a recruiting class at the drop of hat. On the other, we will all go a little stir crazy while waiting for the Blue/Gold game. Despite that, the Roundup will still go strong, grabbing on to every last piece of football news while we await for the ...
