April 7, 2018 by George Bashura

Prelude to a National Championship Game Good Afternoon, Irish Fans!  There will be a lot of pre-game articles that will talk about stats, and keys to a National Championship, but there are aspects of the game that go beyond statistics. March 15, 2018 by George Bashura

Everyone says, there is nothing better than championship events. Phrases like: win or go home, survive and move on, or play like it's your last game. These are all motivational words that you hear before a single elimination game. Last Saturday night at Compton Family Ice Center was no different. The Notre Dame Men's Hockey team, the regular season B1G Champions, had just such moments to capture. Ahead of them was the Penn State Nittany Lions who were just as hungry. PSU got to this game by ...

February 13, 2018 by George Bashura

After the Irish won their first B1G regular season championship this past Friday night, Ohio State Buckeyes entered Saturday evening looking to play the role of spoiler. The Buckeyes wanted to make sure the Irish knew that the season wasn't over yet and did so with a 5-1 victory over Notre Dame. First Period Both teams came into the first period with a very physical style of play. Both teams took a total of 21 shots in the period. The Irish had 10 shots on the Buckeyes net-minder Romeo who ...

ND Hockey Weekend Recap: Sacred Heart vs Notre Dame

October 24, 2017 by George Bashura

Pioneers Part Two or Pioneers Deja Vu What are the chances of playing the Pioneers not for one weekend series but two weekend series? Yes, the Irish played the Pioneers from Denver the weekend of October 13 and 14 and, this past weekend, the Irish played the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University from my home state of Connecticut.
