ND Spring Game: Back in the Saddle

April 19, 2016 by Lisa

I was fortunate enough to get some face time with a few Notre Dame football players after the spring game on Saturday. Two of which were making their football debuts after rehabilitation from injuries. Here are a few of my interviews from the post game presser, as well as some of Coach Brian Kelly’s thoughts on the QB competition.

First I spoke with Drue Tranquill, where I asked him to talk about what it was like to be back on the field.

I also had the chance to ask Malik Zaire what it was like to be back in the action again, and how he feels his role as a team leader has developed.

Coach Kelly spent a significant amount of time discussing the progress of his two quarterbacks and how his decision of picking a starter is developing.

In part one he discusses the things Malik Zaire and DeShone Kizer need to work on moving forward, both mentally and physically. He also speaks about Brandon Wimbush and how he fits into the quarterback competition equation.

In part two Coach Kelly talks about how and when his decision of picking a quarterback will be made.

Isaac Rochell took a little time to speak with us about the defense and how they are developing as a cohesive unit.

Isaac Rochell also talked about the summer internship opportunity he has taken this summer.

I always look forward to the spring game, but all it does is make me want football even more and now the wait until fall will seem to take FOREVER!! I hope you enjoy the clips from the press conference, and BRING ON UT!!

GO IRISH! BEAT TEXAS!
