Lane Kiffin is a Boob

October 19, 2011 by The Biscuit

You already knew this, but this week he’s reminded us all. A few quick examples:

1) TIMING-GATE!!!!!!!!!

Kiffin was unhappy the Notre Dame game got switched to a night kickoff after USC made its travel arrangements. The Trojans leave Thursday afternoon for Indiana.

“I wish they would have told us before,” Kiffin said (about the game being a night game). “We wouldn’t have left one day early.”

Kiffin is miffed because ND had the gall to move the game to an evening kickoff time 7 MONTHS BEFORE THE GAME! Seriously folks, this time was announced in March. HERE’S THE ESPN LINK WITH THAT ANNOUNCEMENT LINK

USC TIME

Seriously, Lane? That’s not early enough for you? You need 8+ MONTHS TO MAKE YOUR TRAVEL PLANS? Are you telling me you made those travel arrangements on March 10th, and that was JUST TOO CLOSE TO THE DATE TO CHANGE THEM????? Who runs the airline you guys fly? Satan? The Kraken? United?

Listen up now, have we settled our travel plans for next Fall’s first game yet? Less than a year away.

So, so dumb.

2) The ND’s Super Bowl Comment

“They’ve made it, I’m sure, their Super Bowl (this year), putting a bye before it, putting it at night for the first time in 21 years. I’m glad to be part of their history.”

This just makes no sense. Of course it’s a big game – ND vs USC always is. So we didn’t ‘make it our Super Bowl’, it’s just a big game. This comment makes even less sense because this is, literally, USC’s only bowl-game-like opportunity. Because they can’t play in one. (HA!) So, if this is a Super Bowl for either team, it’s most definitely one for USC. Huge game for ND, as well, but no more so than for the Trogans.

3) The “we gave ND the game last year” stance.

“Sure, we felt at the time that we handed one away — the ball was in our hands to walk into the end zone and finish the game. But unfortunately we didn’t finish it off and even after that play had another chance to go down there after making the fourth down.”

C’mon now, Lane! Yeah, your boy dropped the ball at the end of the game. You had a chance to win it there. But really? Are we going to ignore the fact that we (mostly Tommy Rees) kept you in the game with multiple turnovers inside our own half of the field that led to ALL OF YOUR POINTS? Let’s look at USC’s scoring drives from the game last November at the Coliseum:

Drive 1: 3 yards, FG
Drive 2: 15 yards, FG
Drive 3: 2 yards, Touchdown (took 4 tries)
Drive 4: 18 yards, FG

ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU OUTPLAYED US WEHN YOUR LONGEST SCORING DRIVE WAS 18 YARDS? You averaged just over 9 yards per scoring drive, could only score 1 TD despite how close we let you start, and you still claim to have ‘let the game go’? Madness.

Let’s review a few stats from last year, as well, shall we?

Points: ND 20 > USC 16
First Downs: ND 15 > USC 12
Yards: ND 296 > USC 261
Turnovers ND 4 > USC 1 (which means we overcame much more and still won)

The position that USC gave us the game is insane. If anything, we gave USC the chance to be in it, 4 times over, multiple times in our own red zone. USC gave us 1 TO and 1 Dropped Ball. If anything, I’d say we TRIED to give the game to USC, but they just wouldn’t take it.

But no worries, Lane, there will be no mistaking the SHI-FREAKING-LLACKING that is coming your way on Saturday. Boob.

He’s the perfect coach for them. I like how he blames last year on not having Barkley, basically placing everything on Mustain. Classy. And way to ignore that we were playing our backup QB too. Douchbags.

Preach on, BIZ . . . Kiffikins is a MAJOR BOOB (and I do NOT mean like the Major Boobage from Kenny’s excellent adventure on South Park a few years back . . .) GO IRISH!!

I think Pat Haden is counting the days and waiting for an excuse to jettison Kiffy-kins once and for all.

This is why I love Her Loyal Sons. Biscuit well said. Sometimes I think this duffous says stuff like this on purpose. He has been like this for years.

How can they let this “horses arse” have anything to do with molding young men?

My most/least favorite bit from “timing gate”:

“The Trojans arrive late Thursday, so they will have plenty of time to kill before kickoff. ‘We’ll just have to figure out something to do in Michigan City,’ joked Lane Kiffin.” (http://www.usctrojans.com/blog/)

Good one, Lane. What are you going to do in Michigan City, Trojans? Go to “the beach”? Hit up the outlet mall? Come on.

Would love to catch BK about 4 pints deep and hear his unvarnished thoughts on Lame Kiffin.

Head to und.com to check out the new Notre Dame football helmets…

Huge thumbs up to the new helmets. The people that hate them will be the same traditionalists that want to celebrate the debate team between timeouts and police any standing/cheering during play.

Josh, love the helmets, they look fricking amazing, but watching the scene in Rudy where the students paint the helmets, just will not be the same any more.

I really hope someone in the media asks him about the travel thing again. And pretty much uses Biscuit’s exact wording to ask it.

Remember, these are the people (Southern Cal) who honestly and without hesitation blame Notre Dame for them being on probation. They are nuts. They live in one of those alternate reality where they make up their own facts.

Yes, it’s all an ND assitant AD’s fault (Missy Conboy), SC. Had nothing to do with your star player taking cash and cars and houses. Douchebags.

Where are you with comments after the game, Domers? No one? Still celebrating the “SHI-FREAKING-LLACKING”?

Perhaps it’s a Super Bowl hangover. It’s usually worse when your team loses said Super Bowl.

Give us time. The loss changes nothing in this post. Kiffin remains a boob who is 1-1 vs ND.

Have fun the next 3 years with schollie reductions.

I beg to differ in your statement that the loss changes nothing in this post. The last sentence of the post clearly reads “But no worries, Lane, there will be no mistaking the SHI-FREAKING-LLACKING that is coming your way on Saturday. Boob.”

Unless I’m mistaken, it appears that the aforementioned “SHI-FREAKING-LLACKING” did not in fact make it to Lane on Saturday. So I guess that the loss DID change something in the post.

Keep believing that Notre Dame is still relevant. It’s amusing to everyone.
