Game Preview: ND vs. Boston College

November 20, 2015 by andrewwinn and Moons

The penultimate game of the regular season is upon us, and of course it's Boston College. When things are going super well, you can always depend on Boston College to show up and give everyone heart burn (but hopefully not heartache). I wonder if anyone else has written about those games which shall not be named. OH MY GAWD MY EYES AND SOUL. Why writers!? Why re-hash those games???? We do this with USC every time good things happen. Why do it with Boston College too? Can't we just have nice ...

Notre Dame Football vs. Wake Forest: A Twitter Summary

November 18, 2015 by Moons

On Senior Day at Notre Dame Stadium, the Irish had, as Keith Arnold noted, the uneasiest of easy performances against the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest, eventually winning 28-7. Naturally, Notre Dame fans acted rationally. ...

Game Predictions! ND vs. Wake Forest

November 13, 2015 by Moons

I don't know about y'all, but I'm chill...I'm relaxed. That Pitt game, yes got dicey momentarily in the 4th, but still much calmer than Pitt games of yesteryear. Speaking of 4th...that's where ND finds itself in this week's College Football Playoff Selection Rankings. Now's the time to put up a couple of BIG....and I mean B-I-G "statement" victories versus the softest part of its schedule. Vegas has the Irish by 27...do you trust Vegas or will that Catholic guilt keep you from predicting a ...

Game Preview: ND v. Wake Forest – An Irish Wake for the Deacons

November 12, 2015 by Moons

It's a weird feeling coming off the Pitt game and not being extremely angry. The Irish for the most part dominated Pitt and over and over again exploited Pat Narduzzi's odd decision to leave his lesser talented cornerbacks on islands with Will Fuller. Notre Dame's opponents continue to improve. The fan base is now, kind of hilariously, thrusting victories over Temple and Navy into other team's faces, but hey...them's the breaks. The next coupe of games don't provide the same chance for ...

Another week, another round of pick 'em. It's a noon o'clock start, so make sure you're voting early and often. A reminder of the rules: Fill out this form (do not post your predictions in the comments section of this blog post) Your score predictions and weekly prop are each good for one point, with bonus points for getting the score exactly right. The quote section is optional...but like how washing your hands after going to the bathroom is "optional." Sure, you can skip it, but on the ...

Notre Dame Named Defendant in Sordid Lawsuit

November 2, 2015 by Moons

You may have missed it over the weekend, but on Friday, the University of Notre Dame got named a defendant in a bizarre sex scandal. The action, styled as John Doe v. University of Notre Dame du Lac, and Jane Roe was filed in St. Joesph County and requests damages for the plaintiff against the defendants jointly for racial discrimination, sexual harassment, tort of outrage, negligence, and breach of contract. From the language of the actual lawsuit, here's what we know: The plaintiff, ...

Irish Survive Their Owl of Discontent

November 1, 2015 by Moons

It was far from pretty. The Irish needed a late touchdown yet again from DeShone Kizer and Will Fuller to avoid a loss that would have felt like a nightmare. On a night know for tricks and treats, it felt for much of the evening like the Irish were playing a trick on themselves. The result is fine: Notre Dame proved victorious over the Temple Owls 24-20. If this game were measured as a type of candy, it was far from being a Reese's Cup. In fact, it's insulting to mention Reese's with that ...

Game Predictions! Notre Dame vs. Temple

October 31, 2015 by Moons

Happy Halloween, y'all! I say things like "y'all," deal with it. Notre Dame and Temple play after dark on Halloween. I assume that means both teams will be armed with silly string, eggs, toilet paper, and a penchant for mischief because we all know once the kids go in on Halloween all that remains are the hooligans. Well, hooligans and at bars a "sexy" version of every halloween costume. Man, I miss college halloween. But I digress, TIME TO GET IN THOSE PICKS. A reminder of how things ...

Game Preview: ND v. Temple – H-Owlin’ at Nothing

October 30, 2015 by Moons

Welcome Loyal Readers. Are you refreshed after a week away from NDFB? Yeah...who am I kidding. I know you. You were sitting there at home dissecting crazy playoff situations, getting angry at Heisman ballots, running regression studies on field turf and ND's leg injuries, and longing for the days Lou Holtz was trolling Mark May on "College Football Final" because dear word is the new group terrible. So, will Saturday's game be a trick...or a treat? Oh, you didn't come here for painfully bad ...
