A Notre Dame Football Blog
Good afternoon! At 8 tonight, the first round of the NFL Draft will commence. In recent years, Irish fans have waited nervously to see where elite talent like Zack Martin, Tyler Eifert, Manti Te'o, Michael Floyd and Harrison Smith would land. It'll be quite different this year as the Irish's first selection - tight end Ben Koyack - won't likely be grabbed until, at earliest, the fourth round (maybe to the 49ers?). So while we settle in for the long wait, let's check some headlines (ordered ...
Good morning! I want to thank those fine gentlemen at MGoBlog for linking to my "amateur analysis" of the coaching tenure of Brian Kelly. They may remember Brian Kelly from such games as, "37-0, no wait 31-0, but really 37-0." Yes, that was the way the series with the Wolverines really was going to end. Talk about salt in the wound. Humor aside, let's take a look at the headlines: FROM OUR SITE More good works: Darrell "Flash" Gordon PODCAST Irish Sports Talk: Ryan Thiel on ...
Good morning! I have returned from Las Vegas without the millions of dollars that the tourism department implied I would win if I just played the right slot or table. Frankly, it's easier this way. I subscribe to the life philosophy of Kelly Price: "It's like the more money we come across, the more problems we see." Without further delay, here are the highlights of what transpired with the Notre Dame football program since Friday: FROM OUR SITE Fashion review: The Shirt 2015 Friday ...

Good morning! Last week, we brought you the story of Elli Thatcher, who was undergoing a complicated procedure to remove a tumor from her neck and ear. While Elli's blog hasn't been updated since early Friday morning, Elli's boyfriend - Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer - provided a brief glimpse of the recovery Monday on Twitter. https://twitter.com/DKizer_14/status/590170958364860417 All of us at Her Loyal Sons are praying for Elli to have a speedy recovery. Go Elli. Beat ...
Good morning! The Blue-Gold spring game is officially in the books, with the defense prevailing by a score that really doesn't mean anything. What did we learn? I'd imagine the HLS staff will have some analysis later in the week. But for now, let's whip around the Internet to get everyone else's take: BLUE-GOLD GAME: AP: Blue-Gold game recap Bleacher Report: Notre Dame football 2015: Winners and losers from spring practice, game Blue & Gold Illustrated: Gold beats Blue in spring ...

Brian Kelly is, by my amateur analysis, the worst coach Notre Dame has ever allowed to oversee its football team for at least 65 games. It’s completely unfair to compare coaches from different eras because of the college game has evolved in the past 80 seasons. There's also several issues that are beyond the head coaches' control: academic issues, injuries and transfers to name a few. However, I’m going to do it to provide an additional perspective on Brian Kelly’s tenure (Bayou Irish ...
