Notre Dame @ Virginia Predictions: Hoo Can See the Future?

September 11, 2015 by Ryan Ritter

Gameday is nigh upon us and it’s time for another round of predictions. As an added bonus, I finally have all of the results from 2014 tabulated. Yes, it’s late, but that seems to be the theme for today. Better late than never, right?

Before we get into 2014 bragging rights, let’s recap how to join this party. If you’d like to pick against the HLS Staff and my cat in a battle of college football clairvoyance, all you have to do is head over here to enter. Once you fill out that form, I will make sure to do the rest of the heavy lifting to get your points tabulated.

So with all that said, let’s get to the 2014 results, check out the results from last week, have a laugh at some solid prediction notes from last week, and see if my cat has figured out Notre Dame is good this season:

Congrats to Moons for running away with this damn thing. There’s a reason we hired him, y’all.

Also, holy hell, Biscuit. As a reminder, he made all of his predictions before the season started. He did so again this year. The leprechauns are indeed magic.

Thanks to everyone that played last season and best of luck this go-around.

Best Quotes from Last Week

As a reminder, we have a little notes section in the prediction form. Get eerily close to what happened and/or be funny as hell, and you get bonus points.

17.25. That’s the number of points per game BK’s given up in 12 career home games during August/September at ND. In 8/12, the opponent’s scored FEWER points than that average. I’m betting on that. #SmokeBevo – @HLS_Moons

Y’all should know by now that Moons is all about the #SportsMath and man did it pay off here. Hell of a call, sir. One point for you.

The Irish are too experienced, and too fast for the Longhorns. The defense puts on a show similar to UM last year, and the RTDB crowd are very happy. Notre Dame sends em packing with the mad cow disease, and they secede from the union. – Dixie Domer

This really summed everything up perfectly all the way down to the Michigan-like beating while running it down their throats. One point for you as well.

The Irish pull out a Texas size butt whoppin and run roughshod all over them longhorn.

Texas hasn’t been beat like this since the last time Michigan scored on ND. – Davie Dave

I’m pretty sure that any reference to Michigan failure gets a point. So one point for you as well.

F**k Brad Paisley. – @BrendanMcP

Don’t pick against ND, dummy. One point for calling him out (and making me chuckle).

Week 1 Standings

It’s still early, and I know last week got out late, so be sure to get on it this week. Lots of season left.

Animal Picks

Gulliver is now 0-1 both straight up and against the spread. Let’s see if he figured out that ND is actually good this season.

That’s better.

Go Irish! Beat Cavs!
