[Guest post from former Notre Dame tight end: Oscar McBride]
Here we are again Notre Dame Family! Another year filled with promise and excitement for our shot at the 2016 College Football Playoff! Per usual there are some unknowns… and probably the biggest of them all is the pending performance of former Archbishop Alter star and current Notre Dame field general Malik Zaire.
The Irish offense boasts the return of big play, Academic All-American Corey Robinson (49 rec.|696 yds.|6 TD); one of the most complete running backs in all of college football in sophomore Tarean Folston (175 rushes| 889 yds.| 5.1 YPC | 7TD [1 rec. TD]) and a sure first round draft pick who decided to return for his senior season to anchor what promises to be one of the best offensive lines since the Joe Moore era in Ronnie Stanley.
As Flex Seal ™ infomercial salesman Phil Swift says… “But wait… there’s more!”
Defensively the Irish return perennial All-American Jaylon Smith (111 total tackles| 3 ½ sacks) and everyone’s favorite Notre Dame Man and defensive signal caller Joe Schmidt. Along with seasoned veterans Matthias Farley (3 ½ sacks | 4 INT) and Max Redfield (68 total tackles | 1 INT) anchoring a Todd Lyght-coached secondary, the Irish will look to lock up opposing offenses with a unique blend of speed, power and technique.
This season the Irish possess a combination of experience and talent that man to man rivals any roster in the nation. Throw former Servite standout freshman 6’4” Equanimeous St. Brown into the mix at receiver along with man-child freshman Jerry Tillery (6’6” 300lbs.) to thicken up the defensive line and lo and behold we have the makings of a legitimate contender brewing in South Bend baby!
So to say this former Notre Dame letter winner is excited about our coming season would be a HUGE understatement! To all you naysayers out there I’ll leave you with this… if the biggest concern for our Irish this season is whether or not Malik Zaire will be the quarterback Coach Kelly’s offense needs him to be… let’s just say I’ll be seeing you guys in Arizona come January.
Let’s go fellas!
Yours in Notre Dame Forever,

Nice, that article got me even MORE excited (if that is possible).

What Mr. Pinkle does not realize is, now with the playoff system, his team can go 8-4 and still win his division, then go and win the SEC championship and get into the playoffs at 9-4 and could possibly edge out a 11-1 Notre Dame who played a harder schedule. Quit your whining and one more thing, this is college NOT PROS, they should be student athletes not Athlete students!!!!
