That video needs an asterisk: “* Defense did not appear in every game.”

More precisely, *Defense did not appear vs Navy*

Interwebs stole my first post, so I’ll try to rephrase it: WE GONNA BE BEAST.

No need for an asterisk on the video. The defense played poorly up until the bye week, but then some of the best they’ve played since 2002 after it. All that means is it took them 8 weeks to adjust to the new system, new coaches, and new positions. I think we might have underestimated how difficult it must have been to have 3 different DCs and systems in 3 years. Now they have adjusted, bring back all returning starters or replace them with top talent, and have confidence.

In other news, the music in that video is PERFECT for a defensive highlight reel, and the video’s creator did an excellent job lining up the big hits with the beat. I’m ready to see the Irish take the field and send those bulls back where they came from.

What strikes me about this video is watching the closing speed of our defense with solid tackling. We have not seen that in a while.

Of course center fielder Harrison Smith is just ridiculous in the Miami game!

Great point. What sold me on BK was seeing solid open-field tackling by the secondary last season. The cornerbacks went for the legs and wrapped people up. I never saw that under Weis or Willingham, and seeing it made me a believer in the claim that BK’s strength is player development.

Personally Poot I feel you cheated by not actually doing a write-up. Loved the video, but feel you took the easy way out. You’re better than that. I was hoping for some fancy charts and spreadsheets.

If our D is as nasty as I think it’s gonna be, we finish easy Top 10 and put the smackdown on some SEC team in the BCS.

And, that would be nice if that SEC team were FLORIDA.
