I’ll Take It…

September 15, 2008 by domer.mq

I’ll take a team that looks competent except for a few huge glaring errors over one that can’t complete a pass…

– Brian Cook, MGoBlog.com

– Golden Tate, Wide Receiver, Notre Dame Football – 4 receptions, 127 yards, 1 TD last Saturday against Michigan (sucks!)

funny how last year when we snapped it over our QBs head on first down to put us in a huge hole right away, and several other terrible miscues, it was “notre dame sucks” and this year when their almost-equally-young (but still more experienced than we are) team muffs a bunch of balls and fumbles and throws INTs all over, it’s all luck. typical michigan fans.

I’m tempted to do a little victory taunting over at mgoblog, but it’s more entertaining to just silently watch them from afar. I find it comforting in this topsy-turvy world that some things will never change.

    Biscuit,

The really maddening thing is that it was veterans making some of these mistakes. Outside of the muffed KO’s I thought UM’s FR played pretty well, which granted is sort of a “other than that Mrs. Lincoln how was the play” kind of statement to make.

that’s what I’m saying DTK – that this ‘young’ UM (sucks – sorry) team is actually much more experienced than ND at this point. So those ‘rookie’ mistakes were just plain old mistakes. And lots of ’em. But apologists like to go ‘oh but wait, those don’t count, we’re clearly better’. I say, no way. If ND made all those mistakes and lost the fans would be talking about sloppy players, young players and sloppy coaching.

Well, while we’re on the subject, who was it that was snapping it over Allen’s head last season? That’s right, the 5th year senior center…

    Biscuit,

I get your point, but to be fair outside of the TO’s ND just looked awful against UM last year. This time, outside of the TO’s UM looked pretty good and actually was able to drive the ball pretty well.

Remember though, before you go on some “RichRod sucks, the media hates ND” type rant that I did concede your point, you do have to look at the whole game TO’s and all.

oh yeah, it doesn’t appear that UM (sucks!) is at the levels of atrociousness that we reached last year, and i wouldnt’ contend that the team is that bad at all (for various reasons). I was just saying that the UM fanbase is, in general, moronic. But you knew this already…

    Craig,

I think it was the same guy snapping it over Clausen’s head and then yelling at Clausen about it.
