With the advent of the College Football Playoff, we — the Elvii of college football — have joined together to present our weekly playoff nominations to keep the selection committee honest. We call it the TCB Poll.

Playoff Rankings: Week 7 Results
Each week, the TCB Poll is an aggregate of all our inputs. Scroll down to see individual selections and opinions — this is how we’d like to see the College Football Playoff if we had to narrow the field *right now* to determine a national champion. Images courtesy The Helmet Project.

- Alabama – Not much trouble with the VoLOLs. Sidebar: You could replace any three SEC East teams with App State, Nicholls State, and East Carolina, and no one would notice a drop off in quality.
- Michigan – I don’t understand why people are praising Ohio State for almost losing in overtime. Meanwhile, Michigan’s just over there, waiting to win the league.
- Washington – Is Washington still undefeated? Didn’t they have a bye week? I confess I’m not sure. Those games just start so late, and I have a life (OK, not really).
- Clemson – Goodness. It is not right that this team is going to win the ACC (come on, Clemsoning) and make it into the playoff. There are probably 10 teams that would beat Clemson right now, but that’s college football I guess.

Hawkeye Elvis Top Four coming at you from my Black and Gold Jungle Room…
- Alabama – I, for one, welcome our new SEC overlords.
- Ohio State – C’mon. The Buckeyes beat Wisconsin by the exact same margin that Michigan did. And did it on the road.
- Clemson – The Tigers always have that one game where you think they are toast and then they come out clean.
- Washington – I really don’t see anyone in the Pac-12 beating these guys.
On deck – khaki-wearing led hooligans, Texas A&M(?), Bayl-hahahahaha yeah the Big 12 is getting shut out this year.

- Alabama. Convincing road win over Tennessee bumps them up a spot.
- Clemson. Shaky home win over NC State bumps them down a spot.
- M******n. Bye Week to contemplate what a weird combination steak & milk is.
- Washington. Because the loser of the Ohio State vs. Michigan won’t make the playoff.
