Tony Jones, Jr., a 5’11”, 210 pound running back from sunny Saint Petersburg, has the toughness, escapability and moves that make new Irish fans think of Deon McIntosh and longtime Irish fans think of Tarean Folston.
Jones, Jr. attends IMG Academy, after transferring from St. Petersburg Catholic. His father was a fullback and lineback for the Tampa Bay Storm.
The three-star player is a bruising, punishing runner and his talent drew interest and offers from Florida, the U, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Pitt, and Cincinnati. He is rated as the 21st best player in the country at his position and the 75th best player in Florida, making him the number one player overall in Missouri or Kansas.
Tony was recruited by Autry Denson.
