‘Tis the season to express what you’re thankful for. I’m thankful for the Kelly regime’s recruiting prowess. This Irish team has a different kind of depth from previous teams. Imagine that! If you give a good coach enough time to create a pipeline of talent, you can survive injuries. ND might be on the outside of the playoffs looking in at the very moment, but no need to panic. Not yet at least. Thank you Boston College for your terrible offense that let the Irish escape with a win last Saturday. So, what say you ND nation? What will the Irish make of their regular season finale and last chance to impress the Playoff Committee? As always, the rules:
- Fill out this form (do not post your predictions in the comments section of this blog post)
- Your score predictions and weekly prop are each good for one point, with bonus points for getting the score exactly right.
- The quote section is optional…but like how washing your hands after going to the bathroom is “optional.” Sure, you can skip it, but on the inside you know what you’ve done, and you are a terrible individual for having done so.
Last Game’s Best Quotes: The expectations were quite high for ND versus BC. Most of us thought the Irish would exorcise some demons of BC games of good seasons past. Little did we all know that Notre Dame planned to invite BC to dinner, send an uber for ’em, get really drunk and sloppy on cheap wine, and reminisce about those crappy nightmares from yesteryear. The picks were….uhhhh….just slightly better than Notre Dame’s hands on Saturday.
NDtex:
BC’s defense is actually pretty solid, so I expect some general sloppiness. They have nothing resembling an offense which means an easy win for the Irish. Man, it must suck to be the visiting team in your home town to get embarrassed.
You undersold “general slippiness”…sorry, I think I just fumbled this joke.
irishsharpe:
We cannot beat BC enough times or by enough for the 1993 game, my last as a student. Every team from #127 to #1270 should watch the ’93 team highlights and then that…that…that game. And I paraphrase, “I want you to get these f***ers where they breathe! I want you to find these nancy-boy Jesuits, I want them DEAD! I want their coaches DEAD! I want their house burned to the GROUND! I wanna go there in the middle of the night and I wanna PISS ON THEIR ASHES” And we get to do so this year in Boston. Oh sweet Caroline’s redemption we get to do so in FENWAY! This one’s for you, team #105!
I award you a point just for having endured the ’93 game as a student. Your misery has finally paid off in 2015 with a free HLS pick ’em point. It was ALL worth it now.
fenway8250:
Sam Adams will be the drink of choice today. This game will be too close with an inferior tyeam
THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT MR. FENWAY! ALL YOURS. Oh wait…you had a simple but elegant game prediction. Points!
NoDak Irish:
Boston college makes the mistake of covering fuller one on one two deep tds to him. Irish cruise
The best coverage an opponent has against Will Fuller is Will Fuller’s own hands.
Last Game’s Results:
Along with NDSeattle and Davie Dave, the HLS staff up top included Biscuit (who makes his picks prior to one snap of the season taking place) and Elvis who confirmed that he’s usually just picking blindly while catering to the family. This is scientific proof that people who think they’re good at picking stuff against the spread are full of it.

2 games left to go in the season. Barring a miracle or me starting to award some serious arbitrary points, this is a three person race. BrendanMcP and Davie Dave continue to shine as the ones who know how to pick.

In my predictions this week I said Redfield would be clutch, LOLZ–I meant Farley. Don’t know how I mixed those two up. Hope both step up though!
