Each week in this space, we examine two things: Notre Dame’s strength of schedule (from USA Today‘s Sagarin rankings), and who Irish opponents are facing. For those of who want to scout future opponents, I’ll give you my recommendation for who to watch when you’re not watching Notre Dame Football.
Who To Watch
Boston College at Duke (Sat 3:30pm ET ESPN3)
The mascot boards a bus for North Carolina (probably).
Notre Dame kicks off in prime time, but eagle-eyed fans can get a preview of Boston College. Last week, BC Raleighed back from a week 2 loss to FSU, and Duke stuck Georgia Tech with their second consecutive loss. The meat of BC’s schedule starts now, so their soaring defensive statistics the first 1/3 of the season against a weak schedule may not continue. We’ll have a much better grasp of their talont by the time ND arrives at Fenway.
