Come on! I get that we’re going into Norman, and that OK is a really balanced team. I also get that they’ve been strong the last decade and we have not. But a 10 point dog in Vegas? Pundits calling this a near-lock for OK? Give me a break!
ND has a shot at this game, and a good one. No, it’s not a lock and it won’t be easy. But really, let’s analyze this Sooner team’s performance to date, and see if we should be as scared as some think.
WIN: UTEP. OH BOY WOW! You beat a 2 and 6 UTEP team. This doesn’t count.
WIN: Florida A&M. OH GOOD LORD, way to start off the season with a couple tough tests. ND’s opening schedule of Navy and Purdue looks like the FREAKING GAUNTLET compared to these 2. FL A&M is 3 and 5.
LOSS: Kansas State. WHOOPS. The first team with a pulse on the schedule and you drop the game. Doesn’t make me confident.
WIN: Texas Tech. The first decent game that was a W for OK. This is a decent, yet one-sided TT team. TT is 6-1, so this is a legit W, but it was their first of the season.
WIN: Texas. Two decent games in a row and now 2 legit wins. Texas isn’t the Texas we’ve all come to know and fear in recent years though. So this holds some weight, but not as much as it might have 3 years ago. Still, they’ve won 2 real games. Yay.
WIN: Kansas. Another JV High School team. Chaz’s squad is 1-6. Laughable.
TBD: Notre Dame. And I’m thinking LOSS.
Oklahoma has played 3 real games this season. They’ve beaten a bunch of patsies that are a combined 6 and 17, which means nothing, and they are 1 of 3 against teams that have a pulse.
Notre Dame has a shit-ton more than a pulse. Notre Dame has lifeblood on fire raining down sacks like a monsoon. IT’S ON OKLAHOMA! BRING YOUR NOISE!
HERE COME THE IRISH!
Sooners? More like….LATERS!
