Starting a weekly tradition here…
No longer do you have to scour the internet or your Tivo guide to find the games you needs to be watching. We here at HLS have got your back! (4twizzle!)
This past week was a solid start to the season with some awesome endings (ECU Hail Mary anyone? Navy going for it on 4th and Goal and getting STUFFED, anyone?), great victories (ummm, Killing Purdue), and some early upsets (Utah over Pitt) and almost upsets (really Oklahoma? Utah State?).
Week II promises to be even more collegefootballtastic with a Saturday slate that should cause all us fans to freaking drool. Without further ado…
Thursday, 9/11
Auburn at Miss. St., 7:30pm EST, ESPN. This only gets included because the Thursday night slate is weak, and we love football and we need to watch something Thursday.
Friday, 9/12
WVU at Marshall, 7pm EST, ESPN. Same reasoning as the Thursday game. Yay football!
Saturday, 9/13
Georiga at South Carolina, Noon, ESPN2.
Florida State at Oklahoma, 3:30 EST, ABC/ESPN2. We’ll find out if OK is really down as intimated by the Utah State game…my guess? Nope. And also if FSU is really back simply because they (finally) have a different coach. My guess? Nope.
Miami at Ohio State, 3:30 EST, ESPN/ESPN3D. Another awesome game at 3:30. Hope you have the dual-tuner action or you’re a great flipper. And hey, it’s in 3D for ALL ONE of you have that have 3D in the world. Awesome.
Michigan at Notre Dame, 3:30 EST, NBC. WTF!?!?!?!? WHY ARE ALL THE GAMES ON AT THE SAME TIME. Okay, now I hope you have multiple TVs with multiple DVR tuners (like me) so you can catch all 3 of these in real-time. Of course ND crushing Michigan (sucks) will be the main event, but I’ll have the other 2 going on Mute and with the Tivo hooked up for my own instant replay of the instant replays….
Oregon at Tennessee, 7pm EST, ESPN2. Pac-10 Vs SEC. Gotta go west coast here, even with Oregon’s off-season woes. Because, ya know, Tennessee had Kiffin.
Penn State at Alabama, 7pm EST, ESPN. Big 14-even vs SEC. Would love to pretend like PSU has a great shot here to shut up the SEC fans (who cheers for a freaking CONFERENCE anyway?) but really, PSU is going to be out-talented, out-coached (simple because Saban isn’t 100) and out-QB’d because they have a frosh back there and well, he’s a frosh.
Stanford at UCLA, 10:30 EST, ESPN. We’ll get to see how real Stanford is. This is where the real fans man up, and those that are weak give in and sleep/do something other than watch. Hope you’re with me still.

Yeah!!!!!!!!!! We are going to be playing the 24th ranked team in the country on Saturday and we already know one of the two National Championship contenders in week two. How exciting is it to see who over the next 11 weeks will get to play Boise State.
tjak
Not sure what poll I was looking at sorry, but Michigan is only ranked 26th in the AP.

I’ll give this feature…oh, let’s say 7 weeks before you get bored of it and can it for good.
The Biscuit
no way – i have to go through this myself once a week to figure out what my saturday looks like, so it’s almost no addt’l effort. this one will likely stay, if only bc of that.

Then i hate this feature. Part of what i love about this site is its nearly scatterbrained nature. Balances out DTK & mq who both suck for separate reasons. 🙂

Clearly someone won’t be up drinking at 6:30.
P.S. I almost missed last Saturday. I blacked out at 1 and passed out at 2. Luckily I was awoken and 2:30 and ran into the stadium only to realize I was sitting in the stadium one hour before gametime.
The Biscuit
True, but I’ll be up and drinking at 8:30am since I’m on the west coast…so not bad. And I’ll STILL power through the Stanford UCLA game.
