So apparently the band kids get crazy at Wisconsin. Kinda like that girl from American Pie with the flute? Well, maybe not…
But nonetheless, they do get crazy. ESPN, in a desperate attempt to fill their front page during a week of ‘slow’ article development, reported that the Wisconsin Band is in a heap of trouble after a raucous bus ride back from Michigan. Those crazy kids – I remember away-game-bus-ride-hazings when I played a SPORT back in HIGH SCHOOL when I was 16 YEARS OLD. Frankly, I just don’t get it. What possibly could band kids be doing with their Tubas, Flutes and Trombones? Wait…
The University of Wisconsin put its marching band on probation because members routinely engaged in hazing and rowdiness involving alcohol and sexual acts, school officials said.
Hold on…what? WHAT-what-WHAT?!?!?!
There has to be some kind of mistake. This is the band? Are you sure?
The school said the band’s behavior was so notorious that the athletic department sets aside money so that cheerleaders and the dance squad can travel in separate buses to avoid harassment.
Ummmm, okay. This is getting absurd. They make the American Pie girl look innocent. There isn’t any more is there?
“We had dancing and disrobing taking place that made some people feel not only uncomfortable but unsafe.”

[A] head-shaving incident was reported by a faculty member who believed “the individual would have preferred to keep his hair.”
Okay, at least they got to some normal stuff at the end there. Shaving heads in the band? that’s cool. But wow. I mean, I would hate to see what the frats at UW get into…it’s not like they’d do anything like throw a party for 600 people in a house with a max capacity of 99. That’s sweet…
