We’re not going to NOT post items ripping on opponents or placing Charlie Weis on a pedastal today. Afterall, the idea of terrorism is to force people to change the way they live. 5 years after the brutal 9/11 attacks, it’s a different world, but not one in which it’s impossible to have a little fun.
Still, today is a great day to do something to help make the world a little better. Here are a couple of ideas I came up with on my 2.5 hour commute this morning. They aren’t all directly related to the 9/11 events, but they might help make someone’s life a little better.
- Order a bunch of pizzas for your local firefighters.
- Donate to the Red Cross:Â Blood and/or Money.
- Volunteer to be a Big Brother/Big Sister.
- Get involved with Catholic Charities.
- Donate to the IAFF.
- Find a Charity that suits you.
- Adopt a Member of the Military.
- Donate your frequent flier miles to Military members.
- Help build someone a home.
- Help Troops phone home.
Anyway, not trying to get preachy. If nothing else, hug a loved one.
