Now do these guys suck or what? They take an article about the skyrocketing prices for hotels (set by hotels), tickets (set by scalpers since face value is reasonable at less than $60) and rooms for rent (set by individual owners, etc.) and imply that it’s the football team’s fault!
I mean, take a look at the headline:Â Notre Dame Football Introduces Its Fans To Inflationary Spiral.Â
The italics are mine. Really WSJ writers? Did Chuck Weis and Brady Quinn walk out to the fans and say “Hey there, Badkermit, Q, CHISND and Biscuit, welcome to South Bend and welcome to Inflationary Pricing.”? No, they f-ing didn’t. These writers suck more than Ty’s short game.
It’s called supply and demand folks, and currently there is a shit-ton of demand because the Irish are back on top, and the supply remains virtually the same. If someone will pay it, they should charge it. That is good old-fashioned Economics 101. And I freaking skipped every single one of those classes in Mendoza. If you want to go to the game on the cheap, stay in Fort Wayne, or the ‘burbs of Chicago. You pay for the convenience.Â
But that’s all fine and good, I just hate that they attempt to smear the program by implying it’s their fault.  It’s NOT THE SCHOOL you MORONS, it’s the businesses in South Bend. And don’t tell me that a hotel manager wouldn’t have his ass handed to him by his boss if he didn’t bump up rates on those weekends.
Hell, I’d kick him out on the street just on business principle. Yay, capitalism!
