There’s about 500 games here, dating all the way back to 1913.

Some are so complete, the commercials are included. Others just include one moment – a Penn State kicker making a game-winning field goal, a Pittsburgh quarterback dropping a profanity on broadcast television or a 280-pound BYU punter successfully executing a fake. There’s games that will look awesome on your high definition television (trigger warning) and others that are lacking sound.

If there was multiple videos for the same game, I tried to choose the best. There’s three weeks worth of content here. (I haven’t watched it all.)

Subscribe to the playlist for all the latest updates and tell your friends. This took me hours, and I’m ridiculously proud of it.If

** As far as I know. If I’m missing a game, let me know in the comments section and I’ll be sure to add it.

The Irish beat the #13 Air Force Falcons, 15-7, after surging to a five-goal halftime lead. The men’s team had squandered fourth-quarter leads against North Carolina and Duke before the tournament began. But that was not a concern last Saturday, as the Irish cruised to easy victory. The Irish were paced by sophomore Mikey Wynne, who contributed five goals and freshmen Ryder Garnsey, who added a hat trick.

The Irish and Tar Heels will play at noon Sunday in Columbus, Ohio, with ESPN2 televising the game. UNC (9-6) advanced to the quarterfinal following a 10-9 victory over Marquette. Notre Dame and North Carolina were co-champions of the ACC regular season, although the Tar Heels beat the Irish, 17-15, in Chapel Hill on April 23. The Irish seemed in control, only to squander their fourth-quarter lead. Along with losing the game, the Irish ceded the #1 ranking and top seed in the ACC tournament.

This time, the stakes are much higher. The winner will earn a berth in the Final Four, which will begin Memorial Day weekend in Philadelphia. The Irish or the Tar Heels will play the winner of a game between two Maryland universities – Loyola and Towson – next Saturday.

The all-time series between Irish and Tar Heels is tied at 7 apiece, with the Irish holding a 1-0 advantage at neutral sites. Notre Dame and North Carolina have played six common opponents. The Irish are 5-1 against those teams, while the Tar Heels were 3-4.

I’m neither a huge fan of numbers of prior contents nor a huge believer in revenge games.

Nevertheless, I like the Irish in this game for a simple reason: They are the better team. Notre Dame owns a better record, has more impressive victories and has been ranked higher all year. In my mind, the April game was a fluke. As mentioned earlier, the Irish snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. This will not happen again. My prediction is that the Irish advance.

When Subway rode off into the sunset and placed the IBG into my care, he probably didn’t anticipate that I’d start tinkering with the thing before the season was even done. However, soon after I took hold, I couldn’t help it and the wheels started spinning in my head for how to shake things up again. When another member of the IBG came to me asking for change as well, I took it as a sign to go for it.

I threw out an idea. It wasn’t hated. So here we go.

I took inspiration from the roots of the IBG. Previously, there was a host blog that would come up with five questions and every other ND blog under the sun would answer. The issue though was that one blog ended up playing gatekeeper and the results were quite mixed depending on who was hosting. That led Subway to doing the pairings to try and get more voices heard in a more consistent manner; however, that can led to more of an isolation rather than a true roundtable discussion.

So I’m mixing the best of both worlds here. All five members of the IBG have submitted questions and we will answer them on our own sites. After all, people visit and are loyal to each of our sites for various reasons, but at the heart of it, you are there because you want the opinions of that person(s). So now at HLS, you’ll get our voice, but answering the questions from all other IBG members. As for my question, instead of answering it, I will include links to each IBG post as it goes live, keeping the intent of traffic sharing and promotion that is also at the heart of the IBG.

I think it’ll be a good change and hopefully the retired godfather of the IBG approves.

Without further ado, let’s get to it.

NDtex, Her Loyal Sons: Tommy Rees has very quietly put up some rather impressive passing numbers. His 22 TDs and 8 INTs are surprisingly not far off from Heisman candidate QBs such as Jameis Winston (24 TD, 6 INT), Johnny Manziel (26 TD, 8 INT), and Marcus Mariota (20 TD, 0 INT). While “Rees for Heisman” is an obvious stretch, especially since he isn’t a dual threat like the previously mentioned QBs, I’d wager tied 8th in the nation for TD passes is a lot more than most Notre Dame fans were expecting. Should we all be making a much bigger deal about this or should we wait and see how he ends the season?

Posts will be directly linked as they go live:

NDNation says it’s a big deal

Inside the Irish sees a lot of Tony Pike in Rees

Strong and True (UND.com) doesn’t think Tommy is getting the credit he deserves

UHND.com isn’t surprised with Tommy’s numbers

Frank Vitovitch, UHND.com: Tarean Folston broke out in a big way against Navy last week with 140 yards. How big of a role do you think the freshman back will play in the final three games and what level of production are you expecting from him down the stretch after his break through performance last weekend?

If Folston doesn’t have a major role, I’m going to be seriously disappointed.

We saw some flashes of this brilliance against Air Force as well and, even though these are lesser opponents, the difference between the runs that he makes as opposed to George Atkinson III, Amir Carlisle, or even Cam McDaniel is simply staggering. I really think Folston and Cam are the one-two punch that the Irish have been trying to find all year. Cam will get the tough yards, but Folston can be the feature back that is also a homerun threat.

Further considering that BYU and Stanford have some pretty stout rushing defenses, it will be even more vital that the Irish have their best backs in. Leaving Folston on the bench would be a serious mistake that will force the Irish to go one-dimensional and completely lean on Tommy Rees. Even though he’s had a solid season, that simply isn’t a plan for success.

Mike Coffey, NDNation: Lots of comments after the game concerned the poor condition of the turf in Notre Dame Stadium and what can/should be done about it. One of our number has contended the BYU game on November 23rd will be the last with the current grass in the Stadium. What kind of a playing surface do you believe the Stadium should have and why?

I want a playing surface that isn’t awful. I don’t care if it’s grass, turf, or some kind of future-space-age surface that we’ve never even heard of before.

The condition of the field has been simply horrid. And, at this point, I don’t think we can point fingers at the groundskeepers who I’m sure are doing everything in their power to get the sod to work. There is probably other environmental factors at play that is making this so difficult and Notre Dame could very well be fighting a losing battle trying to stick with a natural playing surface. Just take a look at Soldier Field in Chicago, they are having similar frustrating issues.

Now, I’d prefer grass if at all possible because I just think it looks better, but if what we’ve continuously seen year in and year out is going to be the result than to hell with it.

I know a lot of people want the turfmaster system like what Green Bay has and I’ve been on board with that; however, getting that system to work means a lot more than just installing a special blend of natural/synthetic grass. At some point, the costs of such a project seem like a rather ridiculous waste of money, personally.

I also realize a lot of people have pointed to Michigan State’s stadium, citing the use of a modular tray system. The truth is that the modular system was replaced completely in 2011 after U2 performed (and footed the bill for the new turf). In that article, the company that Sparty bought their sod from is the exact same vendor that supplies Soldier Field. They didn’t get some kind of special turf so it stands to reason that East Lansing is fortunate enough to simply have better growing conditions for turf whether it is the soil, water table, sunlight, or some other combination of growing factors.

I know a lot of people love the grass and think proponents of field turf are trying to destroy the tradition of Notre Dame Stadium. We aren’t, we are being practical, and I say we because I’m now convinced at this point that grass simply isn’t a long term solution for the House Rock Built. With players getting bigger, stronger, faster, and football moving to a style of play that uses the entire the field on a more consistent basis, I think the surface of ND Stadium has taken more abuse than it ever did before and it’s showing.

We got a way to make grass work? Fine, let’s see it. We can’t make it work? Fine, bring in the field turf. Just fix it.

Aaron Horvath, Strong and True (UND.com):Due to the immense amount of injuries during the past few weeks to the Irish defense, do you think that playing both option teams on our schedule in back to back weeks was a good idea? And… Due to the thin defensive depth chart, what player who saw little playing time in the first nine games will breakout in the final three?

I don’t think playing Navy and Air Force back-to-back is an awful idea; however, doing it in the middle of the season when your team is already banged up is a recipe for disaster. Had the first two games of the season led off with the option teams, I think the damage would’ve been lessened a bit.

Now, with that all being said, I hope we never do it again because I simply don’t like the risk. It isn’t that I think cut blocks are inherently evil because every team, including ND runs plays that include them. However, Navy and Air Force are throwing these blocks every single down. The chances of something bad happening will just naturally increase.

As far as someone to step up in carnage, I am hoping it’s Max Redfield. Yes, I’m well aware his particular position isn’t facing the severe depth issues that the front seven are; however, with the front seven hurting, the secondary is going to have to step up. Quite frankly, our safety play has lacked a lot to be desired and something has to change there. I’m hoping Redfield has been able to get up to speed to make an impact because this defense could surely use some safety help at this point.

Keith Arnold, Inside the Irish: With the defense so beaten up, is winning out still possible? Would you prefer a lopsided match-up in a BCS bowl or a potential bowl win and possible 11-win season? Would the offseason narrative be better if ND won a second-tier bowl or lost a BCS bowl?

Winning out is definitely still possible. It will be harder for sure if we can’t get healthy, but I don’t think injuries alone will make me rule this out as a possibility.

As far as my opinions on what bowl scenario is better and the resulting narrative, my stance is simple. If we lose a BCS bowl or win a second tier bowl, the narrative will remain the same for decades: ND went 0-for-the BCS era. So with that in mind, what do you have to lose?

Give me the BCS berth any day of the week. I don’t care about how potentially lopsided the matchup supposedly or actually will be. I think it is simply stupid to try and lower the bar because we think the chances of winning are better. That’s like saying we should’ve hoped we wouldn’t get in the title game so we could get a more favorable game against a lesser BCS opponent. That makes zero sense to me.

Besides, “sure” losses in the BCS have had some surprising results. Just ask Florida how their “easy” BCS matchup against Louisville turned out.

1) Let’s talk about the running game. Both George Atkinson III and Amir Carlisle have proven to be less than effective so far. Is it time to reduce their workload and give more carries to Cam McDaniel and/or Tarean Folston or should we stay the course?

Absolutely positively no-question yes. GAIII’s running style is too upright and he can be too indecisive behind the line unless the hole is big and obvious. Carlisle doesn’t have the elusiveness required in this offense for the running backs. I believe both would be better served in a role as slot receiver, but that’s not a gear you can switch into this late in the season, particularly with the talent already present at the WR ranks. I’d like to see a combination of McDaniel and Folston for the next two games, which should be easier, to prepare them for the last two games, which should be more difficult.

2) Did Hendrix’s performance against Air Force make you feel any better about him should he be called upon again to fill in for Rees?

Actually, it did. Andrew Hendrix was never going to set the world on fire at the QB position, but he certainly wasn’t as bad as his performance against SC showed. I believe Hendrix can run the offense competently, but needed some confidence for that to show. Hopefully he got that confidence on that 47-yard toss.

3) What adjustments, if any, would you like to see from the defense against Navy?

The thing that frustrated me in all the post-game defensive analysis was the decision not to crash down the defensive backs until later in the game. Meanwhile, Jaylon Smith was left out on an island trying to defend both the quarterback and the pitch man on the option plays wide, and we always seemed to be a defender short out there. Then the DB’s started playing a lot closer to the line, and voila, their running attack wasn’t nearly as effective. I realize Romine is a decent passer and ND was defending against that possibility, but I believe our DB’s are good enough to recover if they play run and it’s really a pass. The DB’s should be playing on the line from the get-go.

Evidently we’re playing something called the Air Force Academy this weekend. I’ve never really understood what an “Air Force” actually is. We never had one in France – and if we had (let’s be honest) they would have found a way to surrender promptly. We never had an Air Force back when I was starting my Northern Indiana adventure. We were still doing cavalry charges and using sabers. So this is all rather odd to me. As I have studied the issue, it seems that the Air Force maintains many airplanes with which they patrol our skies and those around the world. Why they wear bus-driver uniforms is still beyond me. But they also breed and keep falcons as their mascots. We used to have a live animal as our mascot; it was a foul-tempered little Irish Terrier – think of the canine version of the Leprechaun, only hairier and without thumbs.

Considering that the Air Force has planes and vicious birds of prey, they could be fairly intimidating. But I happen to know that Our Lady’s University has the support of much more ancient and powerful winged masters of the sky: The Archangels. Thus, as we go out into the rarified mountain air to challenge and defeat the Falcons of the United States Air Force Academy, let us call upon our defenders in battle.

Michael

His name means “Who is like God.” Seems a little arrogant to me, but he’s damn awfully effective at fighting Satan. Since we beat The Great Satan last week, we can be assured of Michael’s continued assistance in the next outing for the Irish. Joshua (you know him as the fellow who ripped the rug out from under Moses and destroyed a city with music) referred to Michael as “Captain of the host of The Lord.” Hence, he’s pretty much going to have Brian Kelly’s back against the falcons.

Gabriel

The name of this holy helper means “God is my strength.” Sounds good; and Gabriel has a couple things going for him. First, he is The Lord’s messenger, bringing words of support and strength to The Lord’s own. In which case, Gabriel is either working for Sports Information or for the FIDM Office – maybe both. The second thing about Gabriel is his horn, which he blows to indicate the favor of The Lord. So he’s pretty much the director of the Band of the Fighting Irish. There’s this other…thing…and I’m not making this up…from the Book of Enoch, wherein the discourse between The Lord and Gabriel is as follows: “Proceed against the bastards and the reprobates, and against the children of fornication, and destroy them.” Clearly, this is a reference to USC; so we know Gabriel is working hard for us, since he helped us bring victory back to our home last weekend.

Raphael

A very important semi-divinity to have on hand, since he is “God heals.” No more neck-strain, no more twisted knees – Dr. Raphael is on our sidelines to give strength and heal…you just can’t see him. Raphael also was responsible for disturbing the waters of the Pool of Bethesda where those who were sick would wait for this sign of God’s healing. Healing…water…obviously Raphael will be with our trainers and our managers tomorrow.

Uriel

I know this name sounds like a pill you take for an…ehem…embarrassing physical condition. But he’s actually an Archangel of the Lord. And his name means “Light of God.” Since we buried the demons from Southern California under our own lights, and since we’re not kicking-off until 4:00 tomorrow, we can count on Uriel to be running the technical details for us.

Selaphiel

“Prayer of God” – he’s working with our chaplain and all the CSCs firing-away with the Paternosters and Rosaries behind the scenes.

Jegudiel

He is the patron of all who work in positions of responsibility for the Glory of God. He’ll have his arm over Jack Swarbrick’s shoulder all night.

Raguel

This is the protector of those who work for justice, fairness, harmony, and vengeance. His name means “Friend of God.” And so this is the Archangel who will be with all of us fans in the stands tomorrow.

With our own divine Forces of the Air like this, we cannot lose.

EFS CSC

Well, Cam McDaniel has become quite the internet sensation this week. I feel though we are only focusing on one aspect of Cam McDaniel right now. There is clearly so much more that this Texas native delivers.

Back when we detailed Cam’s amazing run through a backwards gauntlet, one loyal reader had the ingenious idea of nicknaming Cam “run cmd”. Being a computer nerd myself, I’ve run with this. With that in mind, let’s take a journey through some of Cam’s greatest hits this season via run cmd commands.

run cmd -backwardsguanlet -destroyitanyways

Via

run cmd -nohelmetneeded -noonemakesmebleedmyownblood

rud cmd -texaspower -stiffarm -bulldoze

run cmd -juke -pickupyourjock

And of course….

The Roundup

This Cam thing really has hit critical mass. I’ll just let Cam explain:

https://twitter.com/cammcdaniel4/status/393600745062166528

Our ranking blind poll is complete. We left Notre Dame unranked and put Arizona State on the top of the pile. Good work, everyone!

I’m agreeing with Saban, I think I might be sick. I can’t fault him for his opinion on his fans, at all.

Speaking of ‘Bama fans, at least they didn’t poison a tree this time. Defacing a rock is a step in the right direction Bammers, good for you!

GSR numbers are out. I’m pretty sure you can guess who won this battle, again.

If you haven’t made yourself aware of the Grambling State situation, you should. Their initial protest is now over, but the entire situation is bringing Louisiana education budget cuts to light. Oh, and the opponent they cancelled on this past weekend is suing them. Definitely one of the crazier stories of the season.

And now, your moment of zen…THE PUPPETS HAVE JOINED FORCES WITH EVERY DAY SHOULD BE SATURDAY!!!

Put These Games on Your Radar

Last week was a little bit rougher on me as I went 2-3 against on the games I picked, but it brings me to a two week total of 8-5, which I will happily take. Let’s see how this week goes — we got quite a full slate of great games.

Picks are in bold as usual or, if you are using Firefox which has a fun bug apparently, my picks have the spread listed next to the team name.

[table “” not found /]

Predictions

Biscuit predicted 13-10…months ago. Coming that close, months in advance deserves a bonus half-point to take the lead in this little competition. Let’s see how we do this week.

[table “” not found /]

NDtex (@HLS_NDTex)

So here’s what I’m expecting: ND comes out with a solid start against a vastly inferior team, Hendrix comes in and the offense sputters to end the game. It’ll be a comfortable win, but we will all likely wish it had been by more.

ND 38, Air Force 6

Biscuit (@HLS_Biscuit)

Via:

The lesser of the 2 academies we often play is always a challenge with the Triple Option, and they keep it interesting with special twists and gimmicks week to week. Smaller, but really good at what they do, Air Force racks up serious yardage with Option play, but can’t match up physically. It’ll be a bit of an adjustment for Notre Dame’s stellar defense, and I could see a decent game til half time, but Notre Dame will push through it and pull away in the 2nd half. Air Force just can’t keep up with the size, speed and depth of Notre Dame.

ND wins 37 – 17

3 Leprechauns for the pilots. (And thanks so much for your amazing service to the US of A)

Bayou Irish (@HLS_BayouIrish)

I have a running deal with the bar where we do gamewatches. If we hang sixty points on a team, I buy the bar a round of strawberry shortcake shots (don’t ask). We almost scored sixty in 2011, with T Rees under center. I still bought the round. I think I’m buying this Saturday.

Even though it’s a service academy and God and Country and Notre Dame and all that, I think BK knows we need a blowout, gaudy win to go with our two losses and drag us into the Top 25. Tommy played well against USC until he got hurt, and I don’t think you’ll see him come out until late and only in order to give Hendrix some (as we know now badly needed) game experience and maybe let him finally score a rushing TD against Air Force without tripping.

Daniels, TJ and Hercules will be too much for the Falcons. Diac knows that he got his one “pass” after Navy 2010, so he’s going to be keyed in to this one and so will Jaylon Smith, who is quietly (or not) turning into a beast. He may finish with 15 tackles. Jaylon. Not Bob.

ND 63, Falcons 10.

Twibby (@HLS_Twibby)

After a couple games that went down to the wire, Saturday will offer Irish fans (that get CBS Sports Net) a chance to relax and enjoy a contest that will be in hand early.

Irish 45, Falcons 14

Irish Elvis (@IrishElvis)

1st Quarter: Start Fast
If I predict TDs on the first 3 ND possessions, it’s bound to happen one of these weeks, right?

2nd Quarter: Attention to Detail
Cam McDaniel works on not fumbling and maintaining the “Blue Steel” look while running. ND up comfortably 24-6 at halftime.

3rd Quarter: Effort & Enthusiasm
Hopefully the second team plays better this week than they did last week. Egads, injuries!

4th Quarter: Finish Strong
Here’s hoping for a comfortable victory that’s not as close as the final indicates. ND wins 34-20.

The Irish Twins (@HLS_IT1 & @HLS_Podcast)

Twin 2 (@HLS_Podcast): ND coaches and fans should resist the urge to work on offensive contingencies long enough to focus on the task at hand–stifling the inevitable service academy pep. Some will justifiably predict big points for ND. But this Irish team is scoring less and allowing more going in than they were in 2011 vs. Air Force. Note that Air Force outgained ND in total yards in the 2011 contest and quietly scored 33. If ND remains unapologetic and sticks with what works on offense, they will roll. But if they succumb to offensive introspection as a result of the USC game, they won’t be as efficient. Still, a lot of fans may want to see new offensive faces and experimentation in this game, rather than the workhorses accumulating points. They will probably get their wish.

(Properly adjusted for the 5,896 elevation difference): Irish 37, Air Force 21

Twin 1 (@HLS_IT1): 41-21 ND

Blog Davie (@BlogDavie)

I have soaked in the other HLS members’ predictions and will now pull a move straight out of The Price is Right: I will take @HLS_Podcast’s prediction and add one point to each team’s score. Irish 38, Air Force 22

Steve in Iowa (@SteveInIowa1)

Let’s see.

I WANT to go with something along the lines of the blow out two years ago but with less points from Air Force.

48-17 ND

But you know what is really going to happen? We win blocking a last minute FG attempt come away with a squeaker. 17-16.

Why? Because ND never does as good as I think they will.

ManCaveQB (@ManCaveQB)

Despite numbers indicating an Air Force team playing better football of late, I struggle to project a scenario where Notre Dame doesn’t score plenty of points in the first half and safely secure a win in Colorado. While the USC win is a high for those inside and outside the program, it wasn’t the type of win that should lead to any measure of a hangover effect. I predict the Irish outrush the Falcons, who are 12th nationally with 269 yards per game, and finish with 250+ yards on the ground themselves. The success of Atkinson & McDaniel early will lead to a much more efficient day in the air for Tommy Rees who’ll log a couple of touchdown tosses on well executed play action passes and attempt under 20 throws on the day. Maybe we warm Andrew Hendrix up in the 4th with a few Hail Mary’s (football & traditional) before letting him work out some kinks among the young receivers. Air Force, amid a disastrous season on the field surrounded by out of their control distractions, is not in a place in 2013 to stifle Notre Dame’s push back into the Top 25.

Notre Dame 38, Air Force 10

SuperManTDJesus (@SuperManTDJesus)

To be direct about it, the Falcons are royally boned. They’ve be ravaged by injuries and their established lack of size in the trenches of both sides of the ball is going to spell utter disaster for my military academy brethren.

Look for the speed back to go off. GAIII will run for +145 and 2 scores, tab McDaniel with another 90 yds and a score and look out for Carlisle to get his fair share of work scoring another TD of his own (maybe 2). Rees doesn’t have to throw much, but will connect with TJ Jones and Corey Robinson for a score each.

I’m also looking out for a touchdown on D. I’m gonna reach and say it goes to Cole Luke on a broken screen that gets picked off and taken to the house.

A field goal or two will be expected as well. Air Force will score two in the 4th during garbage time and one in the 2nd qtr as formalities.

Final Score 55-24

The Beer

This game will be played in Colorado, I have tons of it in my fridge leftover from the Shamrock Series tailgate, and I make no apologies for this for those reasons:

First off, let’s just get this out of the way right now and hopefully reduce confusion come Saturday afternoon: Notre Dame @ Air Force is not, I repeat, NOT on CBS. The game will air on the CBS Sports Network which you may or may not have depending on your cable provider.

Here’s a pretty picture to help you remember:

Again NOT ON CBS, people. Find out if you have CBS Sports network via this channel finder. (Image courtesy of Fighting Irish Digital Media)

Plan your day accordingly and don’t be confused as to why CBS is showing Uncle Verne and an SEC matchup.

Second, you may or may not be aware that Notre Dame released a Season Pass for the 2013 season via iTunes.

For me, this was a moment of great joy (sidenote to any FIDM person reading this: All-22 version of this would be the best thing ever — seriously, name your price); however, in talking with a few of my friends in the FIDM office, it’s apparently also been a source of great anger. In reading the reviews, they definitely weren’t kidding.

This is something that no other team is doing in any sport that I’m aware of, so I can understand a little confusion. Let’s clear up what this is and isn’t.

Just like any other season pass you buy on iTunes, this is a DVD alternative. NBC will always have broadcast/live streaming rights to Notre Dame home games and ESPN/CBS/Fox/whoever will have the same rights for away games.

The iTunes store has never been a source for anything live anyways, simply an alternate way to buy media. The description never said anything about live streaming in the first place, so I’m confused on how some reviews claim FIDM lied about this, but then again these are probably the same people that are going to try to watch Notre Dame @ Air Force on CBS.

Now, what did happen from the start was that FIDM seriously underestimated Apple’s approval process. The goal was to have games available within a couple of days after completion for home games and a couple days later for away games (ESPN holds exclusive replay rights for three days or so).

Post-Temple, that obviously didn’t happen and that game wasn’t released until after Michigan was completed.

Since then, ND has worked with Apple to try and streamline the process. Keep in mind, Apple is used to digesting shows no longer than 45 minutes or so and getting all the pre-recorded episodes of a season up front to review. They’ve never attempted to digest a 2-3 hour file and try to turn it back around before.

That all being said, the service has now hit its stride. Games are regularly releasing the Friday after with episodes of Irish Connection (ICON) and Strong and True coming in between.

Yes, it’s a longer wait than most would like (and I know FIDM would love to reduce that time), but it’s still something I’m more than happy I shelled out $40 for, especially when you consider the cost to get the 2012 season on DVD.

All games are in HD with the commercials removed. Even better for a blogger obsessed with analyzing game film like myself, I can open these files in Quicktime and easily have a frame-by-frame playback instead of playing a game of “hit pause at the right time” on other streaming formats. This will especially be useful in the offseason when finding full game replays becomes much harder as some sites, like ESPN will remove replays completely.

I had toyed around with the idea of buying a tuner and capture card for my PC to do the same thing, but the cost of that equipment (and the time needed to properly set that up) compared to the cost (and ease) of the season pass was a no-brainer for me.

Sure, it isn’t perfect for immediately feed back on a weekly basis in my case, but it is going to get some heavy use this offseason. Beyond blogging purposes, I also simply really like the idea of owning HD, commercial-free, copies of all the ND games and being able to download any of them on demand and not have them clog up my DVR, which I’m pretty sure the idea was in the first place.

Honestly, this all really isn’t even a pitch for everyone to go buy it. I realize getting a game nearly a week after it happened it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. However, if it is your cup of tea and you are enjoying the service, do FIDM a solid and go give it a fair review on iTunes. I would be rather sad to see innovative services like this stop simply because a lot of people gave 1-star reviews by failing to read the directions.

Plus, there is no way in hell I’ll ever get my all-22 footage dream if the Season Pass fails so, please, I beg you, no, the whole ND blogosphere begs you, to give this thing a fair shot!
