Many apologies for not being able to fire off a show last night. I was caught in home renovation/repair hell and could not escape from the mess my dad and I started. Much like when you grab your ticket from the counter, once you wet mortar for a shower pan, you’re committed.
Still the pick ’em must go on. You will now find a full landing page that has both the current standings through week 1 and the remaining entries for the rest of bowl season. After all, the holiday/bowl travel is coming up and we want to make sure you have your chance to get your entries in on time.
Eddie and I will be live on Twitch tomorrow night at 9pm CT/10pm ET, but we still have a Thursday game to pick in the meantime and bowl season waits for no man or shower repair. So let’s gooooooooooo baby.
Marshall (-3) vs. South Florida
Eddie’s Pick: Marshall
USF has been a complete garbage fire the last half of the season, losing 5 straight. Plus they’re terrible against the number (although so is Marshall, both 4-7), and has Charlie Strong done anything good as a head coach yet? Man, expected big things from him back at Texas, but the results have just…well…never been there.
Now, have I watched any Marshall at all this year? Nope! Am I scared? Nope! Herd time!
Ryan’s Pick: Marshall
Eddie hit the nail on the head. USF is just not good and face-planting into bowl season is never what you want to do. The only bowl-eligible team they’ve beaten is Georgia Tech who’s had a weird season of their own. And those losses: not pretty.
Marshall hasn’t quite face-planted into bowl season and they’ve at least made games out of bowl-eligible opponents. So, yeah, it doesn’t look great over there, but they also don’t have any weird stuff like only beating UCONN by eight which USF somehow managed to do.
In short, I think Marshall sucks less. Plus, this is the got damn BAD BOY MOWER’S bowl y’all. You think Florida boys get hyped about lawn care? Hell no. The Herd are literally a grass grazing mascot. This game was made for these West Virginia Boys. (Yes, I know Bulls graze on grass too, shut up, I’m on a roll.)
