Her Loyal Sons, a growing, independent site serving fans of Notre Dame football athletics, is hiring.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about thinking and writing about all aspects of the University’s athletics programs. Our site primarily focuses on football and men’s basketball, but we are open to hearing from those whose passion extends beyond the gridiron or the court. But no tennis.
You do not have to be a graduate of Our Lady’s University. If you are though, be sure to include the year(-s) in which you graduated next to your name, because apparently that lends greater weight to your comments.
WHAT WE WANT
We want an individual who can commit to writing at least 400 words once per week on an approved topic. (You must also be willing to have your work edited.) Her Loyal Sons’ staff is comprised of men and women with full time jobs and, in many cases, families. Pets, too. We are willing to work within the constraints of your life schedule, but we need an average of one story per week.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer very minimal compensation, paid annually. You’ll also be invited to access our archive of statistics and we’ll help you compile more data if it’s needed for your post. Our staff is very friendly. We’re accessible and we want to help you to succeed. We can help you think up topics or hone ideas you have. We will also help promote your story on several social media outlets to expand your reach.
THIS POSITION IS IDEAL FOR
- Irish fans who want to have a larger voice in the discussion – beyond the comment section or the message boards
- Writers looking to amass samples of their work
- College students who want to write about a topic they enjoy
INTERESTED?
Send an e-mail to herloyalsons@gmail.com. Tell us a little bit about yourself – where you’re from, how long you’ve followed Irish athletics and what sports you’re most interested in. We’ll take it from there!
