I was batting around WVU for this spot as well, but to be honest Dana doesn’t give me a whole lot of confidence as a head coach. All the drama and all that? I’m guessing it’s not over. And Georgia has Richt, who led the Bulldogs to an uninspiring 6-7 last year. But it was most definitely a rebuilding year, and they did do some building. They also lost 3 of those games by 4 points or less, and a few others went down to the wire. Richt is a solid coach and you simply can’t be great every year. Last year was a year to get things going again, and this Fall we’ll see if it worked.
Murray is a capable QB and the defense should make strides this Fall in their 2nd year with the scheme. If they can find some help at RB to take the load off of Murray, that will help a ton. But, injuries have been a challenge there. So that’s why they’re in the bottom teams. That, and the schedule.
The Bulldogs open up against Boise State, followed by South Carolina and then a bunch of gimme games. If they can go 1-1 in those first two, they’ll have a shot at a really strong season as they should roll off 5 straight wins leading up to the Florida game.
Plus, how do you not pick a team with this guy as the mascot:

Yeah, so it’s not THE Georgia Bulldog, but he’s just so sweet. Just look at-em. That pup HAS to be #18!
