Not sure what preseason and pregame fears have to do with a victory against UMass. However, I can say, no, I’m not terrified of a team we beat.

That explains why our guys either get burned or run into receivers on deep balls. Maybe they aren’t fast enough to turn and run, but I believe they are coached to face the receiver. The last year we had more interceptions than burns/interference class was 2012 when we had a true freshman and converted qb who hadn’t been coached in Kelly’s system.
