If you're worried about hurting the brewmaster's feelings, then stick with the High Life version.

It's really just a variation on the Shandy concept, and I wouldn't drink more than 1 or 2 as a starter to the day because of the sweetness. So there's still plenty of time before the nighttime kickoff to wax poetic about the subtle hints in a beer, or how it feels on the throat... Or if you want to stick it to the brewmaster some more, there's plenty of time to throw back car bombs and get enraged enough to release all your 2008 angst on an overmatched opponent.

You really shouldnt PUT citrus in the beer. Hefeweizens and Wit beers will have citrus on the glass, but that's just to accentuate the aroma that is already present in the brew itself. When you add anything to beer, it completely changes the profile of what the brewmaster intended. It's like going to the Louvre and painting a happy face on Mona Lisa because you think 'it looks better that way.'

I, sadly do not have the time to browse the beer aisles like I once did. So if I see the slam dunk, I'm taking it.

Also, I'm more than happy for other choices to be discussed in the comments!

Tex, man, lately the booze has been really an afterthought on these things. Are you still feeling it, my brother, or are you getting bored with the whole thing? How about Ommegang Hennepin? A good New York beer that has tons of flavor and great bite. With the cool weather coming around and it's finally starting to REALLY feel like fall the crispness of the Hennepin would go really well this weekend with a beatdown of the Orange.
