He's a bit lucky being in the AL. You dont really have to be all that great a manager in that league. Just get the biggest power hitters 1-9 you can get and just bat your lineup.

Eh, I don't think that's a fair conclusion. I'm not a fan of every decision Wash makes, but considering he was able to rally the troops to the best record in the AL this season after the first big wave of injuries, it's clear he can motivate.

Also, we are pitching those minor league kids of out necessity. We simply don't have the bodies and the bullpen is beyond overworked at this point. The last few kids we've run out there have actually done a good job, so I'm not sure how that's proof that Wash is making things worse (that's a GM decision anyways).

We'll see what happens after this latest meeting. Wash's meetings tend to turn things around more often than not and by all accounts the team got an ass chewing like they've never gotten from him before.

Ive been saying it for a few years now, Wash really isn't that good of a manager. He could have really proven me wrong this season because even if he didnt win a WS title or even make the playoffs, because let's be honest the Rangers are absolutely decimated by injury this year, if he was really a top-half manager he would be able to rally his troops and make it at least interesting. Instead, he's content to just allow the team to wither away and die playing relief pitchers who have a minors Opp BA of over .300, waste the entire year for potential superstars like Rios and turn back the clock on all the sucess that the franchise built under Nolan.

Heck, any manager could earn the worst record in baseball with all these injuries. The truly dominant ones, even the above average ones could find a way to be competitive. Tx has a good base and quality players. Ron Washington is a real hindrance to their success.
