I've been at a tailgate party where people gather in a circle holding a can of beer upside down. Then they carefully punch a hole in the side as close to the bottom without spilling. Next, on a count of three they are to quickly put their mouth over the hole, begin to suck on the can, tip the can upright and pop the top all in one swift motion. The goal is to empty the contents faster than anyone else. It's a good game.

I saw some lads play a similar game in 1889...except there were no tin cans then so they used a silver pitcher. It went around a bunch of times, and a couple boys got really hurt. The thing broke eventually, thank God, and needless to say they drank all the beer, even lapping up the spills like dogs. Two of those lads became English professors, and one invented a powerful industrial adhesive.

I played a game with some alumns at the Shamrock Series game in San Antonio where you would line up 10-20 people in a big circle and take a can of ale. One by one, you passed the can to the person beside you and took turns smashing the side of it against your head. After a number of blows, the can would obviously spring a fissure and begin squirting the liquid contents. The person who was able to fully explode the can and drink it's contents was declared 'the winner' if that is possible in such an act
