In what universe does dressing a student manager up as the opposing mascot make any sense? I’m serious here, if aliens landed on Pitt’s practice field, and they asked “what purpose does that guy in green serve?” how do you answer this with anything resembling logic?

I mean, is the leprechaun the single symbol from Notre Dame that strikes fear and motivational anger into your heart? If so, I think I have an idea of why you are sitting at 4-4 and on a 2-game losing streak. You might just be focusing on the wrong freakin’ thing.

Even better, Notre Dame’s band won’t even be at the damned game. I mean, are you afraid that your own stadium D.J. is going to try and play “Seven Nation Army”, but completely screw up and play the Victory March instead?

More or less, your coaching staff is admitting that your home field advantage is so non-existent that you might as well be playing in South Bend.

And all of this comes on the heels of Exhibit C:

Holtz, who scored a touchdown in Pitt’s triple-overtime loss last season at Notre Dame Stadium, said playing the Irish gives him extra motivation. “Personally, I don’t like Notre Dame at all,” he said.

Wow, someone that doesn’t like Notre Dame. BREAKING NEWS: WATER ALSO WET.

“It’s just going to make me go harder. I just think they’re really cocky and their coaches are really cocky. I just don’t like that. They’re just different people there.”

“Trust me, my name is Holtz. Therefore, I totally know how cocky every Notre Dame player and their coaches are.”

Holtz said he took a recruiting visit to Notre Dame while he was a senior at Shaler. “It’s awesome up there, but it’s not somewhere I would want to go to school,” he said.

Took a trip, it was awesome, but Notre Dame is terrible. Got it. That’s why he committed to his dream school Pittsburgh Penn State instead.

In conclusion, I have no idea what you think you are doing Pitt, but keep it up. It’s absolutely hilarious.
