As for playing from behind skewing the stats toward passing, it is, believe it or not, actually possible to trail on the scoreboard and still run the ball. Coaches of teams with lesser talent do it all the time. Kelly and Martin don’t.

However, do keep in mind the same logic applies to games in which we are trailing or had to come back and win: we’d have to pass more in order to catch up. That can skew the stats as well.
