You are correct that this is a “read option” that does not require a mobile QB. I also agree that these plays set up throws that TR can comfortably make.

While I would most like to see the offense use varying tempos to force defenses to show their hands, I expect the offense will continue to line up, scan the defense, and audible as necessary. Changing the entire offensive philosophy as it relates to tempo during the bye week is highly unlikely, but installing more packaged plays could serve as a nice change of pace that would not require complicated checks at the line of scrimmage.
