In reply to ndtex. They also said that Luck would have 3 plays called going up to the line and would pick one based on the defensive scheme, so he really did run that offense. Asking a new QB to do that, or expecting the OC to be as good at calling the right play / getting a new QB to check into the right play -- they are going to have a lot more problems than just pocket jitters behind center.

Well, part of the reason Navy doesn’t typically end up with huge linemen is because they are locked into 4(?) years in the actual Navy following their graduation. I am betting that a good number of our big guys couldn’t pass the test. How many legit pushups do you think some of the linemen could pull off? I’m guessing they can do a lot, but 50 in two minutes could be stretching it.
Also, the numbers I found for the PRT are for the general Navy boot camp, and it was being reported that Niumatalolo actually upped the requirements for the team this year since he was so displeased with last year’s performance.

How would Notre Dame players fair on the PRT after a summer with Longo? You’d think guys like Cierre would crush it, but what about #TeamNoAbs (I hate the obnoxious hashtag, but it just didn’t look right without it)? Seeing Navy had a LB, CB, and WR fail leads me to think it was the sit ups and push ups that tripped them up though. No way the linemen outran the skill players.

The OU O-line situation really intrigues me. A lot of people are very high on this unit, especially Steele, but those holes up front could spell disaster. If those holes remain, the Irish’s chances get a whole lot better as we sport one of the best front-seven’s in the nation.

I’m also glad someone finally agrees with me on Stanford. Luck had such a huge affect on this team and those are some huge shoes to fill. I really wonder how strong their running game will remain without as much of a passing threat to honor.
