ND’s Jr Day/Weekend is paying off with 4 solid commitments, and we could see more coming shortly.
In case you missed it, ND snagged a trio of highly touted/desired Offensive Linemen that could make a pretty impressive team on the Bookstore Basketball court (if they were allowed to play). Hunter Bivin (6’7″), Colin McGovern (6’8″), and just today OT Mike McGlinchey (6’9″) all verbally committed to BK and the Irish over the weekend. That is a LOT of length stacked up for the future of the ND Oline.
Bivin and McGovern committed in rapid fashion, one after the other, yesterday. Both are considered 4-star players, and had serious offers from serious programs. McGovern had offers from Bama, Ohio State, and Tennessee, among others. Bivin had a similarly impressive offer list, with Florida, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma representing just a small portion of the list.
McGlinchey committed today, adding to an already stellar OL haul.
“Going into this recruiting cycle, Notre Dame targeted four, maybe five good offensive linemen,” national recruiting writer Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports.com said. “I don’t think they could have done better.”
You add these 3 in with Steve Elmer (5 Star guy, 1st recruit in the class) and you have one wicked OL haul for this year. WICK-ED. Of course, it’s up to the staff to keep this group together through next February, but there’s a ton of momentum coming out of the weekend, no doubt.
And now these big guys have a classmate to protect, as 4-Star QB Malik Zaire also came on board today. Malik is a 4-Star Dual-Threat QB (#4 at the position) and he rounds out a really successful weekend on the offensive side of the ball.
This group pushed the total to 7, and ND into the Top 10 in the current class rankings. A solid result for a well-planned Jr Weekend, with possibly more to come. Stay Tuned Irish Fans, Recruiting’s on a roll.

Sean Milligan over at ISD, has McGovern rated extremely high. He has him rated an “elite” OL prospect in every category. (before he commited)
Brian
What, no five star commits? Fire him!
The Biscuit
At least one of these will end up 5*

These three guys all have offers from elite schools and they have the length so they can gain more weight. I am very impressed with every single verbal so far, which is something I have not thought after 8 commits since Weis started The QB is not a lightweight weither. He is the #7 in the nation.
