domer, don't know why I didn't ask you this earlier but how would you classify a typical ECU grad?

I met more than a few of them during my time in NC and I would put them in two categories:
1) Service Worker, very liberal, faint odor of bong water even at 1:30 PM on a Wed
2) Professional who parties just a little too hard at the corporate functions but is great to be around

I have to add though, I liked every ECU grad I have ever met. I especially love watching ECU grads torment delusional NCSU fans.

DTK, right. ECU is a much improved program coming off a coaching regime that might have been worse than what Syracuse has now, but they've also beaten a VaTech team trying to play football with their best QB wearing a redshirt and almost no returning offensive weapons and a WVU team that now realizes they made a horrible mistake in their coaching hire.

I would also be very careful about wishing for Holtz Jr. Even if he he does have the pedigree he is still, IMO, laregely unproven. Can we at least see if he can guide ECU to the BCS this year? Remember that USF was ranked #2 in the country at one point, for some reason ECU seems to me like they may not have the staying power to last all year. It would be a nice story though.

Speaking of the Holtz pedigree: Biscuit, question for you. How many NCAA institutions have received sanctions as a result of actions during Lou Holtz's tenure as FB coach? What is that same number for Coach Rod?

I kid of course, gotta love ND-UM game week.

Skip is a good coach, but people should be really careful about wishing for anything. Skip, quite deliberately, is not his dad.

Besides that, nobody will ever out-work Weis, and very, very few of even the best coaches out there today would equal his work ethic. I'd argue that work ethic is essential to ND ever winning a NC again given the factors that ND with which ND must contend that a Texas or Oklahoma do not. Hopefully Weis also has that "magic" that is required along with the work ethic.
