With Carlisle transferring we’ll have Atkinson, McDaniels, Russell, Mahone, Carlisle, and Roberson for 2013. All will have at least 2yrs left……Wood could have a 5th yr but, I doubt he would take it.

Decker at OSU this weekend. Hope we can keep him, but OL is deeper than CB. Prefer to get Darby back (and/or get Wright) if I had to choose, but getting all 3 really makes this a top 5 class.

Oh well…ESPN is reporting from multiple sources that Decker has switched his pledge to OSU. I’ve read on another ND blog site that Kelly and staff are visiting both Decker and Darby next week.
Looks like the final stretch toward NSD is just going to be a roller coaster.

Armond Armstead and his father have supposedly landed in South Bend tonight and will be touring the campus tomorrow. Could make for some dramatic, exciting event.

Hypothetically, let’s say that Arik/Armond decide on ND. Is there a chance that the coaching staff tries to convince Arik to play OT instead of DE once he gets on campus? Everything I’ve seen says that Arik’s finalists are all recruiting him to play DE since that’s what he wants, but with Lynch/Tuitt/Hounshell all playing DE and Jarron Jones possibly being able to play on the end as well, getting an athlete like Arik at OT would be a huge plus on the offensive side in building the “other foundation.”

There’s been talk of Jones having the flexibility to move to O-line.

I agree…Jones would be more likely to move over to offense before Armstead. Telling Armstead about such a move would instantaneously eliminate the Irish from consideration.

With Armstead, as with just about everyone else who comes in as a DL with possible OL potential, I would expect the coaching staff to give them a shot to win playing time at DL, and only explore a move to OL when it’s clear they’re not going to make an impact on defense.
