I’m assuming most have read Keith Arnold’s “it’s panic season in recruiting”. I believe we’ve got a really nice class going, but we do have 4 spaces left for the right guys, more would force tough decisions on Golic/Goodman. I was just wondering what 4 recruits everyone would most like to see come play for the Irish, assuming we keep the Tee Shepard/Deontay Greenberry package. |

I think Kiel has got to be the # 1 wish of recruits not verbaled. I’d prefer to nab him. A QB of his alleged caliber would make the RB depth less of an issue. |

I do think WR is a big need still, too, especially if we keep Shepherd and Greenberry. DB depth is getting better. |

Who is Wes Brown?…..we’re gonna get Kaverie Russell. |

Wes Brown is the only other RB on the board besides Kaverie… He’s a bit stronger than Russell. I figured we had a better shot at Brown, but I suppose “wish” should be Russel. I thought Shumate and Wright were another “package” deal. |

Lifetime, looked Brown up, looks to be much like Mahone as a RB. We’re not high on his list nor he on ours, much better shot with Russell I think. Word is we’ll know on Kiel by Christmas. |

Jordan Westerkamp (WR 6’2″) from Montini Catholic in Lombard, IL took a visit last weekend and enjoyed it. He’s a four star on rivals, three star on ESPN. Currently committed to Nebraska but his high school football coach says he thinks its about 50/50. http://www.irishsportsdaily.com/recruiting/notre-dame-football-recruiting/6190-westerkamp-torn |

For me the big need is WR and RB. So agholor, russell and westerkamp. Kiel would be awesome if we can get him. |

Not that I want to get my hopes up, but does anyone know anything about Dorial Green-Beckham’s recruitment? And I mean that as in the experts. It seems like there is no news at all about his recruitment, and Oklahoma is the only school with an official “recruiter” listed on ESPN/Rivals. |

24/7 Sports is reporting that DGB has Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and Missouri and plans to narrow it down to three schools after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game. |

Jason Sapp for 24/7 seems to be doing a good job. I subscribe to Irish Sports Daily, mostly for the analysis and scouting opinions of Brian Driskell. |

I went with 24/7 because of Jason Sapp and Lou Somogyi, two ND graduates…Sapp with good recruiting coverage and Somogyi for great articles on current state of ND football with a historical perspective. I do like Brian Driskell and Brian Smith over at ISD for their analysis and opinion on ND football and would pay for premium there if I could afford both yearly. As it is…I pay for 24/7′s annual subscription and the monthly price at ISD for December thru NSD when things get intense in recruiting. |

Nice to get Schumate’s commitment today, but the real bomb was the transfer of Amir Carlisle from USC to ND this spring…WOW. First Prestwood and now Carlisle. Not used to this transfer thing with ND…but I’ll take it. |
