An interesting look at ESPN, with some red meat for ESPN haters, and interesting info on ESPN’s role in cable tv pricing:

This is dead on. There was a few things left out that I would’ve like to see. Most notably the lack of NHL coverage, the 7 bowl games that the “mother ship” OWNS, and the legit sports stories that were pushed to the back burner in favor of Tebow-mania ie-Brees, Manning, Rogers, Stafford, and the bcs.
Let’s not forget the fact that mid season I’m pretty sure NDvsPitt was scheduled to air at Noon and then suddenly and coincidentally the kickoff time was amended to prime time and aired head to head against espns “game of the century” (puke). I’d also like to point out that the Champs Sports Bowl kicked off at 5:30est while the Baylor game and espns 2011 heisman trophy winner enjoyed the 8 spot.
I could go on and on. The Mothership controls way too much. Unless its ND related I’ve been boycotting espn. It’s actually an easy thing to do when you have NBCsports.com and The Dan Patrick Show.

I cut the cord so I’m no longer giving ESPN any of my hard earned cash. I’ll have to visit a friend’s bar next year for those ND games that air on ESPN but thankfully there aren’t too many games that end up there.
