Favorite Quote from the recruit:
““From the beginning of the play to the end, my job is to hit the opponent as hard as I can. There are no friends once you go on the field. It’s a game. The game is physical. It’s not for the soft and weak-hearted, so I give it my best.” (Via http://irish.nbcsports.com/2012/06/29/linebacker-michael-deeb-commits-to-the-irish/)
Seer’s Vision: Another get for the defensive side of the ball. I think that this young man is a bit underrated by the experts. I say that because he seems to have a knack for the flow of the game at the high school level. He loves contact. Reminds me of reading about Te’o before he came, I recall a story about Te’o sneaking into the high school camp in middle school. Nothing like this from Deeb but he plays like he loves contact, and he says he does. Not a lot of definite numbers in regard to measurables for a recruit. Solid in the classroom, which is a necessity. Despite the lack of measurables on film he has good closing speed, and soft hands for a LB. He may not be the athletic freak that some of our other defenders in this class are, but he is hard hitting and mean. Needs some work on fundamentals, sometimes plays a bit high. He got away with some of this being a man among boys at the high school level. This is going off of junior film so he’ll have plenty of time to work on it before he sees the field. I think he’ll fit in well with the current class, and will find room on the depth chart sooner or later. Decent player from Florida? hmmm 75% Irish.
