Expert Picks Contest Rules: 2006 Edition
Each week of the 2006 NCAA D1 Football Season, the Experts of Her Loyal Sons will predict the outcome of 3 different games:
- The current ND Game
- Another “big” game of the week
- The “Who The Hell Cares?” game
On Tuesday of the current week, the panel of Experts will be presented with the 3 games to be predicted. Their predictions will be due that Thursday by Noon, South Bend Time (Eastern Time these days).
The Contest Winner will be determined by points at the end of the 2006-2007 BCS Bowl Season. Points will be rewarded to an expert or ripped away from their clutches in the following ways:
- Selecting the winner of a game correctly will result in +10 points.
- Selecting ND to lose, and being correct about it will result in +30 points and the loss of your friends forever.
- Selecting ND to lose and being incorrect will result in -50 points. Hey, it should hurt just that much more.
- Each expert will predict total number of points scored by each team in a game. Guessing the total score within +/-7 points will result in +10 points. Within +/-10 points total score will result in +5 points. Anything outside that range will result in 0 points awarded.
- Bonus Point Potential: Correctly Guess Either which defense will allow the fewest total yards for the current week (must be a team actually playing a game), or one of the D1 Quarterbacks to throw for Top 5 total yards for the current week. Guessing correctly on either one will result in +15 points. No deductions for guessing wrong. Experts may only guess on one or the other for any given week.
