As promised, I’ve working on some changes to the HLS this offseason. We’ve been long, long overdue for some upgrades, but to do so, I needed to upgrade our theme and clean up quite a bit of the coding.
I’ve done so and, of course, anything that I touch goes straight to hell no matter how much I test things out. I’ve been able to iron most of the details out tonight, but don’t be surprised if you see a few design elements off here and there.
However, we’ve been able to take advantage of a new background design thanks to Philly Kelly. And I must say, it is quite a nice improvement over the plan blue that we’ve had for the past couple of years.
Another big benefit is that the responsiveness of HLS has gotten a lot better. The look of the site is much improved on mobile devices. Based on the tests I’ve done so far, all videos and photos are now scaling properly 100% of the time no matter what device or window size you are using to browse HLS. Well…save for our logo was is still being cut off on smaller mobile devices.
I will keep tweaking the design within the next few weeks as we ramp up to the season. By the time we kick off HLS will be looking better than ever.
