A little victory formation I like to call, "The 12th Man." (thanks to @cwilk)
It wouldn't have mattered. Had the refs called it, it would have amounted to running the QB dive again, and at this point, the SoCal players had already shown they didn't want to get hit by anyone on ND's roster anymore. Still, go read this absurd piece by Keith Arnold at NBC and see that SoCal fans are insane and will likely use this as their "remember the Alamo" cry next year.

ha! hadn’t noticed that.
I’m glad that KA is getting out in front of the USC complaints. He doesn’t really attack them, so much as let the absurdity of the USC apologists speak for itself… 83 percent of people thought the ruling was just of too lenient. The USC guys turn this on its head and say “only 16% of people really understand what happened.” Come on guys… you got caught. Just accept it and try to rebuild – this time doing it the right way.

I love how 83% thought it was right or too lenient and that is all Notre Dame’s fault – we have so much power in college football for an irrelevant has-been. Never mind that ESPN had a love affair with USC until Pete Carroll left and constantly trashed Weis at Notre Dame.
This makes me want to come up with even more chants to yell at them next year — whose got some good ideas???

I only want to be able to say one “chant” next year:
“Scoreboard”
Screw the rest of them.

Please. When Notre Dame us awarded a touchdown without, you know, actually putting the ball in the end zone (as what happened to USC in 1982) THEN USC can complain. Until then, they can shut up and wait for October.

Actually, by rule, that CAN happen.

But it didn’t happen in that case. The SC back dropped the ball on the 2 yard and dove in without it and it was clearly photographed in the LA Times. That picture is probably still available somewhere.

After the game, it is too beautiful a day to even get worked up about USC fans. I love everybody!
Well, not Matt Zemek or Kim Jong Il, but that’s a given.

True story, bartender at my favorite club in Seoul was named Kim Jong Il. We had quite a few laughs with that one.

I let slip that some of us in the Notre Dame world have referred to the Trojans as the condoms to a Grade 12 class and one lad said and I quote, “I guess U$C was unprotected last Saturday night”. Pretty clever.
