"I just got accepted (Monday)," Stewart said with a wide grin. "I went in to see the admissions rep to see how my application was going. I just happened to run into the secretary who had a package they were sending to my home. It was a spur of the moment. I just happened to walk in and they said, 'Welcome to Notre Dame Law School.'"
First, congratulations to Chris. Well-deserved and a great guy that's gone through a lot to get to this point.
Second, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want him to be a trial lawyer. Can you imagine getting cross-examined by THIS GUY...

...and not telling the truth? More powerful than any oath is the presence of Chris Stewart, Lawyer.

Gah! Do not go to law school! There are approximately 500% more law students in every class than there are lawyer jobs. If you only count the sort of lawyer jobs that most people think of (make six figures, even with or without soul-destroying work load), the figure jumps by a degree of magnitude. Congrats to Chris Stewart, but going to law school, even a law school as awesome as Notre Dame’s, is a terrible, terrible decision.

Insert long comment that was lost due to internet error here. The gist was that a law degree or background can be helpful in any number of jobs he might want down the road, not just “lawyer jobs.” A career in public service or business might not *require* a law degree, but can benefit from that background.

The part that worries me is knowing how difficult the 1L year can be and trying to balance that with football on the side.

Many politicians are lawyers, a great deal of them are.
