Player Happenings

A few things out and about there lately.

1) EE’s are in. 5 players have enrolled at ND: Chris Badger (S), Tommy Rees (QB), Tai-ler Jones (WR), Spencer Boyd (CB) and Lo “Always up to No Good” Wood (CB).

Nice to see Rees in there early given our QB depth issues, and nice to see that we held off late suitors for Jones.

2) Andrew Hendrix, QB 1 in the class to date, checked out Florida last weekend and may be re-announcing tonight. Hoping it’s an ND call.

3) Whether or not Hendrix comes on board, there are rumors flying about another QB coming into this class to compete. One name out there is Scotty Young, a top notch Texas QB that was going to Texas Tech. But when the Pirate was fired, he decided to re-evaluate and is looking at ND and ASU. I want him at ND. Just for the hair.

4) 5th Year Seniors look like they’re set. LOVE that Chris Stewart will be back. He’ll provide some good solid leadership and performance on a line that could’ve lost 3 starters. Wenger will join him on the OL, which is another boon to the line. Walls is back to prove that he can play like he did two years ago, and Barry Gallup is the surprise of the group, coming back to wreak havoc on ST. Bobby Burger may be back. And I hope he is – love that kid’s desire to smack somebody in the face. I think he and Kelly will get along just fine.
