Not much to add to this.
Jimmy Clausen played his final 10 games at Notre Dame with torn ligaments in his right big toe.
I'm not sure how ND's MRI machines somehow didn't catch this, but I'm glad they figured it out now. It's a shame that Jimmy will be hobbled for the combine, but they have plenty of film on him and no one was ever going to be impressed with his 40 time anyway.
Per the article, scouts will have to be impressed - Jimmy had a ridiculous season, and all with torn ligaments. Tough guy.

not sure ND has MRI machines on campus or if they’re to blame. failure to read that injury would probably be malpractice by some team physician. but he did aggravate the turf toe at the san antonio game & weis and team physicians apparently didn’t think i t warranted an MRI at that juncture, when the full extent of the injury could have occurred

very well could be that it was turf toe at first, and the tear(s) happened later. yeah, didn’t really mean that ND owns the imager, just wondering if/how they didnt pick it up. the two-stage injury would explain it.
