Never, Ever Trust Urban Meyer

There's not a lot that can be said on this site that hasn't been said already when it comes to the utter disbelief we have in anything Urban Meyer says. For all the skewering and filleting of Michigan and Southern Cal on this site, only one program is lead by one man who gets the same level of vitriolic attention here as those two programs: Urban Meyer. And while we spent most of the day stuck in hellacious traffic, mentally penning our farewell and wishes of good luck to Mr. Meyer, seeking ways to find the high road while we also sought open road, we forgot one simple thing: Never trust Urban Meyer.

There are a lot of things that might actually be happening while Urban is busy letting the world know (with impeccable timing) that he's leaving coaching and then, well, maybe not so much leaving coaching as manipulating the press for his own good. But whatever is actually happening, and whatever may actually be motivating his decision to leave coaching for his faith and family and then come back to coaching within a 24 hour period "for the players," there's only one thing we trust - the knowledge that Urban's essentially playing dirty.

Should Meyer drop dead on the sidelines of the Sugar Bowl, or even actually suffer a serious, acute attack of some kind, then we'll feel bad for him and his family. We're human, so too is he. But there's no way in hell we're going to accept anything as "fact" if the only source of such "fact" is Urban Meyer's mouth.
