I actually like Randy Edsall. I think he’s a good coach. I’m not real convinced he should be Notre Dame’s next head coach. And I know nothing of what’s happening with the coaching search. I just wanted to make it clear, if it were Edsall, I wouldn’t burn all my Notre Dame gear in a pit behind my house. Unlike, say, if it were Jim Harbaugh.

Hey guys, i wonder if u could do a small tiny favor for a kinda-long time reader(3-4 yrs now). I get what ur doing with the fake rumors and poking fun at the idiots who are runnin with the rumors as fact. I get it, ya kno, and it’s honestly pretty funny. But i worry that the constant replay of the joke is setting u up for a ‘boy who cried wolf’ scenario. If u ever actually want to report that something that is TRUE, everyone will think its still part of the joke.
Again, im not suggestin u stop it all together, but could u put the gig on hiatus for a while, or maybe we could all agree on some code word to add to ur reports so that we know, internally, that it’s part of the gig. It’s not like any reporter would actually do RESEARCH before broadcasting

We’re not making any claims about anyone in this case. I’ve just seen a lot of discussion about Edsall on the internets, and how, if it were him, it would mean Notre Dame is done as a football program, and many fans are “done” as fans. I’m just stating that is not the case with me.
Domer, i was referring to more than just this one case. Again, dont get me wrong, im not calling u out or telling u to stop. Quite the opposite. Just givin g u some feedback from the gallery seats
Trey, we dig the feedback, and appreciate it. The joke can only really last until the announcement (though I dont think DMQ was making a joke here), and that should be soon. My prediction (weeks back!) of the 14th will be proven right, within a few days I think. So it’ll all be over soon. Until you see an announcement from JS, I think it’s pretty safe to say that anything we say in the mean time is conjecture, commentary or just a joke. Because we won’t report anything until it’s announced, even if we ‘know’ it. Because we can’t really be sure that we ‘know’ it. Case in point, about a week ago DMQ and I thought we knew something. It’s looking like we were wrong. That’s why we didn’t post it. But, we could STILL end up being right, so we’re not posting what we were wrong about. It’s madness! Thanks for hanging with us.

qb, you are funny. or nuts. we have no inside guy giving a minute by minute anything. that’s our entire point – no one has that guy, they’re all full of BS (not bob stoops, real BS).
where do you come up with this stuff? we’re the only honest ones out there – we say we dont know anything, and no one else does. how can you have a problem with that? sheesh.
That’s just it: Randy Edsall is a GOOD coach. We need better. In the past three years against Big East competition:
Kelly: 17-4
Edsall: 11-10
Weis: 0-4
That’s right Matt. Beyond the crazy huge top-paid dudes like Stoops and Saban, who were long-shots anyway, you need the guy with the most upside. Edsall is not that guy.
